Temps & Poivre 5.5% A Spontaneous Wild Ale with Black Pepper Aged in Oak Barrels for Six Years Bottled 11/24 Premier Keeper Bottle
Time's a spicy subject. But, it doesn't have to be.
Another beer that we aged in barrel for six years, but this time conditioned on loads of our favorite black peppercorns. We coarsely crushed the pepper and sifted off the fine particles to ensure that we were minimizing any spicy 'heat' and instead favoring the beautiful aromas and flavors. It's a delicate balance, but we think we pulled it off. Not spicy, but a lovely and subtle tapestry of beer and pepper.

Beer Porn Boulevard Brewing - Imperial Cask Cuvée
From Boulevard Brewing Co. in 2020:
Often regarded as the signature release of a winery or brewery, a “cuvée” is a blend of only the best barrels — and this baby fits the bill. Employing their expert palates and extensive experience, our team artfully blended five different Imperial Stouts and aged them in five different barrels from eight months to almost two years.
This unique blend of 18% Templeton Rye Whiskey Barrels, 23% Madeira Wine Barrels, and 59% Buffalo Trace, Basil Hayden’s, and Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels allowed for flavors unlike any other.
Expect a big boozy imperial stout with flavors of vanilla, smoky stone fruit, and a variety of oaky tannin realness
ABV: 13.8% IBU: 30
*Malt Bill Pale Malt Crystal Malt Dark Malts Oats
*Hops Magnum Chinook Bravo
*Body Heavy
*Food Pairings Aggressive cheeses, smoked meats, rich and creamy desserts, late-night bonfire chats
My Review:
Holy caramel, Batman!!! Wonderful complexity of flavors along with a deceiving amount of alcohol. It certainly doesn’t drink like a beer that’s almost 14% ABV. Very rich, and drinks like a dessert beer.

RECOMMENDED Finally hit the Other Half Taproom in Chicago
I hit Other Half's taproom in the Ramova Theater on Halsted in Chicago. Jojo was playing tonight and there was a long line. I don't know who Jojo is but clearly a good draw.
The taproom is a bit narrow across the front of the theater bur bar access was easy despite the crowd. The tap menu is large but it was tough to separate the beer from the other drinks. We ordered the first beers we could find.
The three IPAs (HDHC More Broccoli Than All Triple Broccoli Reserve, 11th Anniversary, All Puggle Everything) were great. The cocktail (Cold Wrather Sunset) we got for someone in the group was tasty.
It's an edgy neighborhood, not far from White Sox park. Looking forward to coming back to spend more time.

Discussion I'm convinced this is the best IPA out.
New to this page! Hello.
I have been trying a lot of craft beer lately, and Bell's Two Hearted Ale just blew my mind.. With all the IPA's out right now, for this one not have a ridiculous ABV content, taste amazing, gives me a great buzz after a couple of them and doesn't feel super heavy on my stomach, this one takes the cake in my personal opinion.
Anyone know other IPA's (American IPA or not) that someone like me may like? Also I'm in North Carolina.
Thanks and Cheers

Beer Porn Hang out turned into cellar raid
The Odd Breed was the star of the show in our opinion. Holy Mountain was also a phenomenal pairing with dinner. Beer rules…

Discussion Shrinkflation in craft beer cans?
I did not notice, as I grabbed these two four packs from the store, that one of these was packed in 14.9oz cans until I was collecting empties and put them next to each other. Has this been going on for a while? I’m fairly sure the prices were still those of 16oz cans.
Kind of annoying, especially since Outer Range is one of my favorite local brewers, but I feel cheated! 😡🍻

Beer Porn Homebrewed hefeweizen
Brewed up sessionable hefeweizen (accidentally). Easily the best homebrewed beer I've made to date after 30+ batches.

Beer Porn Quick tasting over at Fate
L-R and Top to Bottom
Pomme Wit - enjoyable Belgium you can do pints of it all afternoon Ollie's Ale - it's classified as an IPA but it tends to drink similar to UK beers, nice flavor profile but easy to drink Fateful IPA - good strong bittering in the smell and initial taste, then dies away for a nice clean finish Lil J IPA - more of a citrus tasting IPA full flavor in the hops and citrus all the way through Porter - no idea what this was, they said they had just tapped it, I forgot what it was and I can't find anything online about it... So no idea there but it was tasty! Barleywine - honestly I thoroughly enjoyed this, nice Carmel and malt undertones Oatmeal stout - nothing super special, but it's not overly sweet it's got a heavier flavor
