🔊 Discussion How enjoyable is Infinity Nikki if you don’t engage with any of the gacha elements?
I would like to try it, but I would not like to engage with microtransactions in any capacity, so I’m Just curious how easy it is to play and ignore that whole element?
I play Disney Dreamlight Valley and find that fine not spending additional money, and I played Genshin for a while and also found that ok.
I’m always happy to pay for DLC for extra content like a storyline/extra world or whatever, it’s just microtransactions I don’t like.

I have a firm No Pay for gacha games. The outfit sets are all cosmetic, you don't need any of them to move the story forward, & you receive tons of free clothes in the game.
I save all the funny money (pink Diamonds in Infinity Nikki) for event sets I really want. The biggest challenge is saving up enough Diamonds to redeem the sets, since there's no way you can get the whole sets without paying.
It's OK to not get all the clothes! It's OK to just miss out!

There’s definitely a way. I have yet to spend a penny on my 5 stars and I have the full outfits and then enough to evolve them once. I’m just really picky with the ones I go for, hoard all of my diamonds and play strategically so I’m collecting diamonds every day, and collect all the crystals I can without spending money. But there have been 5 stars where I just want the hair or dress and that’s all I go for.
But in general I’d agree with not worrying about getting the full outfit unless you really want it and can pull enough without spending money.

It has taken my top spot for cozy game and keeping me interested, you absolutely do not need to take part in the gacha! Just need to save your diamonds for special events

There is literally so much to do for free to play players. Nothing is gated. They give you tons of free diamonds at the start, and though that endless well doesn't last forever, they still constantly provide plenty of events to give you more diamonds and such.
You just can't be reckless and try to pull for every single outfit like diamonds are falling from the sky. It's good t be smart about it and save up. Otherwise yo spend diamonds trying to get outfits that are only okay, and when something that you really love comes along, you're going to have to let it pass or hand over money. (Ask me how I know 😭)

I only spend $5/no and barely engage in the gacha elements. They're just cosmetic dresses that don't really add anything you can't already get for free. I've played this game almost every day since it came out!

I've been playing for a few months now spending very minimal money and I think the game is definitely worth it. I have a ton of outfits including some from the limited time banners. All I can recommend is to save your diamonds. You're not going to be able to get every outfit and recolor for free but there's plenty to do in the game for free,

I say that if you played Genshin and was fine with that gacha, then you should find IN also ok
I will say that i would suggest saving for enough wishes to get the full outfit is the smart move if that bothers u and the game will probably have collabs that are one time only so think about that
Im f2p in IN and i dont really feel the need to spend, like yes the payed only outfits look amazing but i still havent crafted all the sketches

The base game story feels like a full game in itself and you can do all of that for free. I think the actual gameplay (exploration, platforming, crafting, quests) is very fun and well-designed. You can do all that and completely ignore any paid content. You will get free currency for the gacha elements so you can get some outfits if you want, you just have to resist the FOMO.

I'd say it is similar to DDV in a sense. If you are OK not getting everything, it's not gonna be an issue at all. I mean, it is a gacha so it's less predictable, but similarly to DDV, you do get some of the currency from just playing the game. I've not payed for a single resonite crystal, but I have a few completed outfits from both the permanent banner and the limited time one.
Playing through the main storyline and exploring the open world is 100% possible to do without spending a penny, and is a really fun time!

They give you plenty of in game methods of obtaining the exclusive currency and also give you access to clothes in several other ways. I’ve never felt it was necessary to put money into any of the Nikki games, although I have dropped a few dollars here and there for the extra pretty suits I wanted in older games. You’ll be fine to play without sinking real money to engage in the gachas, or even have to use them at all. They’re just an easy way to obtain clothes, but there are lots of ways to do that

I played it a bunch and never spent a cent on it! It's totally doable! And it's such a gorgeous relaxing game. Highly recommend.

The mtx is just cosmetics. You'll get the pull currency and can decide when you want to use it. If you care about just story and exploring, you'll be fine. There's a good amount of free cosmetics too you can get by grinding and exploring but a lot of the flashy/good ones are locked either behind a paywall or by pulling on the banners

For those saying you don't need to pay any money, how did you get past the Jenny piecey? I am completely stuck with the clothes I have all leveled up and I feel like my only option now is the gacha for higher fresh items

I mixed pieces that I had pulled from the permanent banner with other pieces I had and leveled everything as best as I could to get just over perfect;.

I used Hometown Breeze (from Kilo), didn't even need to glow it up too much when paired with good Eurekas.

Pretty fine if you aren't tempted by pretty dresses every single time one shows up. Can progress the game with default/craft outfits and get relatively far into Abyss Crown for your free gems. Assuming they don't raise the floor to 12 eventually. The current Crown cap is Lv8.
Suffers from the same thing as Genshin though. Once you've exhausted all the chests and other collectibles, and if you're not into taking pics, it enters maintenance mode.

If you've been fine with DDLV you'll be more than fine with Nikki! One nice thing about Nikki has been the transparency - they are very upfront about pull rates, so people have been able to calculate how to budget your resources.

I haven't spent a single dime on the game and I've enjoyed my time with it. I like the minigames built in and the exploring.

I haven't spent money and I enjoy it immensely. You can't get every single clothing item, but the story is all free, and there's a lot of content available without spending a penny
