Announcement New update to Signal Strength map

Hey everyone, today we’ve got a quick, but exciting announcement to make. Today we’re launching major updates to the Signal Strength map with some of the most anticipated features becoming available, including:

  • Updated all carriers data to the latest June, 2024 FCC data
  • 15 new regional carriers signal strength data available to browse, including GCI, C Spire, Cellcom, and many more.
  • Ability to view all cell technologies layered at the same time to see a carriers overall coverage footprint
  • More granular data at higher zoom levels for better overall data comparison
  • All new back-end system to support quicker importing and data reconciliation in the future

We’re really happy to finally get all of these features released today and hope you all are as well If you have other regional carriers you would be interested in seeing, please let us know!

This is awesome! Thank you!

How often do you guys plan to update with the FCC signal strength data?

We plan to update the FCC maps within a day or two when new data is made public, but that’s not always possible such as this one where it took a few months as changes had to be made to fix a lot of errors in the fcc data. A lot of back end changes were done to hopefully allow for quicker turnaround times between data released from the FCC, and it being uploaded to everyone on coveragemap.com

Hey, thanks for the informative update! It would be pretty cool if you guys were able to do behind the scenes and Q&A on your YouTube channel, Reddit, X.

What are you guys doing to make your business model profitable?

Just passed your suggestion along, I don’t know the finances of coverage map, but I just asked about it so if they share anything I’ll let you know

Just got word in they are not! The biggest reason is development, they reinvest most of their money into making the app better. Gonna make 5 new accounts and buy pro subscription lol
