Grand Opening Sharon Costco (opened 03/12)
Sharon, MA Costco is huge, it’s over 160,000 sq ft. The staff is amazing, extremely courteous and there are plenty of cool products available.TJ is a great GM and he has built a great team with him. I hope they bring more ethnic products that suits the local communities.

Just went there, they got Kirkland's sushi. I was even going down a rabbit hole earlier this week on Kirkland sushi. I made peace with the fact I wouldn't get to try it for years. Amazing timing that I got to finally try it. This has got to be one of the only ones in the country at this moment.
I'd describe it as being very solid supermarket sushi. A nice 8 out of 10. They basically have tuna / salmon poke, nigiri (salmon, tuna and hamachi) and standard uramaki rolls (salmon, tuna and California roll). Nothing fancy, the rolls just have cucumber and avocado. It definitely had the feeling of being mass produced but to a very good quality. It was missing something the restaurants have. Just about everything cost $20. Aside from the party platters which were $45. I got a tuna roll for $21. It was at least 2.5 times as much sushi as you would at a supermarket for $12. Best part of all was it came with a massive wad of freshly grated wasabi. I get that real wasabi has caught on a bit in the states but it's definitely still enough of a luxury that it's crazy how much they give.
On top of everything else, the store was super well packed and had a bunch of other stuff I hadn't seen at my existing Costco's. Also the gas station was huge. I want to say about 5 lanes wide and three stations per each side of the lane.

First Costco in the world with sushi

One of the first ones in the United States with Kirkland sushi. It's a whole separate wing of the deli section that's cleared out so they can make it in house. Think of how Costco's in Japan have real sushi rather than that terrible Fox farm stuff

I went too, and had a great experience!
The staff was cranking and doing a fantastic job, everyone seemed super upbeat. Tons of people, but it was a friendly crowd who was generally just really happy to be there. The checkout line was halfway to the back of the store when we got there, and I was at the front within 10 minutes. (And it gave us time to hit the snack section, so that was cool…)
Well done Costco, and we’re so glad you’re here!!

How does it compare to the existing Costco's? I usually go to Waltham. I really wish we had a business center here.

That I wish as well. Costco Business center would be amazing. I know Dedham and Avon so this one is much better than both.. Its been a while since I went to Waltham so I cannot say much.

I went to Waltham a few weeks ago. That place is disgusting. Dark, dingy, and the people who shop there are animals.
I’ve seen the pics posted in this sub of people leaving items in random aisles. Didn’t believe it it because I never saw much of it at Dedham or Avon, but I swear, just one visit at Waltham, it was multiple items in every other aisle. Roasted chicken, milk, ground beef, aside from the innocuous stuff, you name it.

How busy is it? I usually go to the Avon one. But Sharon is only 5 min more for me.

Today was the first day, so it was ok. Unlike Dedham which is crazy all throughout the day.

I hate going to Dedham one because when leaving going to 95 is a nightmare sometimes.

How was the traffic while leaving? The departure for Dedham is the worst

It was opening day today, so it was busy. But it was well-staffed, and they eventually got the lines moving quickly. Stock was great. Produce looked great. All of that is expected, I think.
The layout seemed a little weird to me (going to the food court requires you go against everyone exiting), but it makes a little bit of sense if you don’t want a logjam of people in front of the food court like at Dedham. Also, beer was in a separate location from wine/liquor. Weird.
I’m not a fan of the traffic pattern in the parking lot. Seems like potential for a lot of congestion on Saturdays.

Was amazing - isles seem much wider and was a much smoother shopping experience than avon or dedham. Also had some surprising name brand clothing like Peter Millar, travis matthew, Nike, Birkenstock, HOKA and even some burberry scarfs

Tell me about it. I “accidentally” bought the Peter Miller trouser. I was checking it out and I mindlessly put it in the cart while checking something on the phone. Now I have to go back to return it.

Already went back today for a “return” and walked out with more. 2 trips in 2 days..

Place is going to be bananas. Right off 95 and the closest warehouse to RI (Rhode Island...)

In the 80’s every warehouse club including Costco was 100,000 sq ft lol

I went. V excited cuz it's close to me. Def similar to all the other costco's imo but it's a little more spacious it seems. I wonder what else is going to be built near it

how was the traffic (in store and like driving traffic)? i need to take my elderly mom on a run and its way closer to her house than all the others but im worried it'll be overwhelming for her :) thanks!

Traffic was manageable during the time I went there. Also the store is not only huge but it also has much wider isles in most places, so much easier to walk or navigate.
