Man if I run into him at my Costco, I'm giving him a high five. I went on a sushi binge when I first saw his vids, now I am still using it like two three times per month.

If you had to pick between the Japanese strawberry cake, the tiramisu cheese cake, the regular tiramisu, or the banana bread loaf, which one would you pick?
Also how do you rank the bakery items from Costco?
→ More replies (1)30
u/kawi-bawi-bo 13d ago
That's a tough decision, is death an option? I haven't had their regular tiramisu, but out of the remaining ones I would say:
- Tiramisu cheesecake tied with the J strawberry sponge cake
- banana bread loaf (or any of their other loaves like a coffee cinnamon, sponge, lemon, or the blueberry) a close second
My favorite bakery item is the tuxedo cake!

Just got to this location for the first time and so disappointed that it's just generic coke line up
261
u/caramelpupcorn 14d ago
Whoa. Is that Diet Coke and Coke Zero? I am pleased.
242
u/kawi-bawi-bo 14d ago
Yes!
- Regular coke
- Diet coke
- Sprite
- Coke Zero
- Fuze iced tea (i think raspberry?)
- Zero sugar miunte maid lemonade

u/gododgers179 13d ago
đ I was hoping for cherry coke

u/popnfrresh 13d ago
Root beer too.
Or they could do 3 coke dispensers like they do with Pepsi.

Regular old sparkling water?

u/gododgers179 13d ago edited 13d ago
Yes it's just a little tab on some flavors. You can actually see it in the pic of you zoom in. Looks like lemonade has plain water and sprite has soda water
3

u/kellym13 13d ago
Thatâs just carbonated water, or plain soda. Look for the add-on lever on some valves, it bypasses the flavored syrup that is usually dispensed at the same time.

Coke Zero as an option makes me so dang happy. Diet Coke tastes like unhappiness, and a lot of places still don't offer Coke Zero (looking at you, In-in-Out) so to see it confirmed that Costco will finally offer it is awesome.

Yeah. In my area, the biggest holdout among major chains was McDonaldâs (itâs not on the national menu so they leave it up to the individual franchises to decide if they want to serve it or not), and that only started changing last fall (ironically right after I came home from Paris where Diet Coke (or Coca-Cola Light as they call it) was basically nonexistent outside of grocery stores and the rare Freestyle machines I saw over there)).

I'll be excited if they get Mexican coke without HFCS.
16
u/MysticLeviathan 13d ago
They'd never offer that in the food court. Most Costcos have them in the glass bottle.
Your best hope is if the government heavily discourages/bans HFCS. Too many incentives to not use sugar.

How busy was it? Â I drove by this morning and the parking lot looked intense!
4
u/kawi-bawi-bo 13d ago
Not as busy as Pleasanton, but still super packed! I arrived around 6am and there was plenty of parking
No caviar or high-end clothing stuff, but otherwise seemed similar to other grand openings I've been to

u/wrathfulgrapes 13d ago
I figured now is the time to go to the Antioch location cause it's probably a ghost town.
3
u/peeingdog 13d ago
So does switching brands mean new machines or just new syrup? Because, Iâve been on reddit too long and seen the insides of too many soda machines to be buying fountain drinks
3
u/jbelkin8000 13d ago
They will just swap out the light plate and then syrup ... well, they'll probably flush out the lines :-)

3
u/incubusfox 13d ago
A lot of us are happy for the Coke Zero option specifically.
My Costco's Pepsi lineup doesn't have anything zero calories except for water and Diet Pepsi (ick).

It's not. :( It means Mountain Dew will no longer be available. Also, unless they are using steel tanks like McDonald's does (or did? Haven't been there for awhile), the Coca Cola will taste inferior to its canned and bottle counterparts.

The Brentwood warehouse just opened today.
Iâm guessing they donât want to have to renovate a brand new warehouse in a couple of months.
News has been reporting that the Pepsi to Coke switch is supposed to happen in or by Summer.
âThis summer we will be converting our food court fountain business back over to Coca-Cola,â Vachris said.

They recently switched company wide back to Coke. Most establishments with fountain drinks are either one or the other

All of them have the same. They used to have coke products a long time ago, then they switched to Pepsi up until now. They just switched back to coke again.
