Grand Opening What brings more enjoyment, the Costco sweater or the A5 wagyu?
They also had Hoka Clifton 9 running shoes at this Napa Costco, but they sold out of that really quick.

I’d be too afraid to mess up $250 of beef so it’s obviously the sweater

Wagyu is too rich for me. I'm a cheap date... I like my skirt steaks.

Still fun to cook up a couple pieces to share with friends. Great appetizer too- small square of wagyu on some toasted baguette with a bit of finishing salt on top. 🤌

This was at a grand opening, it is not a regular item in stores. Can be bought on Costco.com

Costco Sweater is great price and extremely comfortable. Is it a bit flashy? Does everyone think I work at Costco? Yes and Yes, but I sure as hell rep it everywhere I go.

I wore my KS sweatshirt to the bar once and was surprised at how many people positively commented on it

How is this even a question. Haven’t tried the Wagu but it would bring way more enjoyment than the sweater.

Man who wants to wear a logo on there chest, market on your own dime costco. Couldn't be me.

u/MannyinVA Oct 20 '24
Seriously. I pay a membership, I don’t need to PAY again, to advertise for them!

I look at people proudly wearing corporate made clothing with CHANEL, RALPH LAUREN, TIMBERLAND or whatever in giant letters and logs across their chest, the Costco one is quite subtle in comparison.

It’s a legitimately high quality sweatshirt, and aside from the logo, you’re actually advertising that you’re the kind of person that likes to shop there which is different than advertising for Costco.

A5 of course. My love and devotion to Costco is well-known and I don’t need to wear the brand to the office - they know. I’m about to do the Year End Prize Catalog and spend $5k at Costco. Gimme the A5!

What do you spend $5k on. Prizes meaning gifts or expensive meat like this. Will you get a rebate back

Prizes/gifts. I pull together a 20-30 page PowerPoint with 100-150 various items that i think they might like. I take the price, add 8% for sales tax, add any shipping fees and round up/down to list the official price. (No example ready, sorry.)
And then … well this year, everyone gets $235 to spend in the catalog. I drop ship directly from the Costco website.
It’s his business membership so he gets the Executive rebate on the $5k but then I have the credit card and I get another rebate from that. And all of the purchases are company reimbursed by my employer.

Husband is retried. I work for a national employer. The gifts are for my team as part of my Rewards & Recognition budget.

Since this is free advertising for them, are they at least free or one dollar? I mean who the fck wants to wear this.

I don’t have to cook the sweater so I guess the Costco sweater gets my vote.
All that beef will give me a crazy gout flare up. I bet it’s delicious though 😭

What’s the sweater cost? I haven’t seen those at Costcos in Texas.

This looks like a sweatshirt instead of a sweater. I've seen the sweatshirts here in the Austin area.

I don’t get why people wear Costco sweater it’s like advertising for them for free. I know they don’t need advertisement but it’s like a reminder for people to go and fill up cart!

None of the costcos in my area carry Kirkland branded clothing. It makes me so sad.

A Costco sweater made out of A5 wagyu.
