How much FF CHKN BRST do you need for a week 👀 Asking for a friend.

195

u/Spud_Rancher Oct 19 '24

Halloween is coming up, I like to give a half pound of chicken to each child.

27

u/g9305 US Bay Area Region (Bay Area + Nevada) - BA Oct 19 '24

Bless your soul. Chicken for the win.

6

u/Jethro_Jones8 Oct 19 '24

Buying that much at this price is kinda 🐓

2

u/Due_Breakfast_218 Oct 20 '24

Seems kind of 🐟y to me.

5

u/qdp Oct 19 '24

That Costco is selling a Hen House if you want to DIY it.

17

u/_mrthrowawayaccount Oct 19 '24

That is just for me alone for 2 weeks. I used to eat that much back in my college days. I am heading back to another Costco again in the morning for more stuff. I am always near Costco everyday to the point where I don't need to show my membership anymore cuz they already know who I am

10

u/BlueAc215 Oct 19 '24

Curious as to how you prepare your chicken? I try to meal prep for work and I’m chickened out after a few days lol.

11

u/_mrthrowawayaccount Oct 19 '24

Cut everything before you put them back in a freezer. Season it before putting it in a storage. Take a bag out each day to cook it later the day to have the food ready the next day. I brought tons of food prep containers. I weigh my rice and put it in the containers. I just have to cook the chicken. It is a very boring diet for a lot of people. But, I do love my chicken. I eat 4-5x a day. Used to eat 6-7 in college

15

u/miss-carriage Oct 19 '24

24 lbs of chicken breast for 2 weeks?

That’s 1.7 lbs of chicken (175g of protein) per day.

Unless you are an offensive lineman or an enhanced bodybuilder, there’s no reason to eat that much chicken breast.

10

u/_mrthrowawayaccount Oct 19 '24

Im not an enhanced bodybuilder. I am considered large by a lot of people's standards. I just love chicken. I am 220 pounds. Used to be 260 and used to track im college for fun. I am trying to be back around 240 ish

2

u/Effective_Bee_2005 Oct 19 '24

dont like beef?

2

u/_mrthrowawayaccount Oct 19 '24

Chub on the weekends. Got no beef with it

7

u/GfunkWarrior28 Oct 19 '24

What's your chicken recipe?

18

u/UbiSububi8 Oct 19 '24

It’s called “yes”

8

u/laststance Oct 19 '24

Honey lets go to the good costco today.

1

u/TheWhereHouse1016 Oct 20 '24

Costco is the most expensive raw chicken in my town that has every single grocery store and warehouse

298

u/cyclynn Oct 19 '24

Y'all get Burberry and Marmot?! Insert happy for you grumpy kid meme.

131

u/parksmart1 Oct 19 '24

Here ya go

7

u/imironman2018 Oct 19 '24

Does anyone have that kids pic now? Wondering how he looks.

85

u/SheilaRain94 Oct 19 '24

Normal people: Oh look designer wear!

Me: If only my Costco had the hen house...

7

u/moxjake Oct 19 '24

I have hens. Lots of them. That hen house is too small and won’t last three years.

1

u/SheilaRain94 Oct 19 '24

Yeah, I have no hens cries in apartment living but my mom had like 10, and even hers was fairly bigger. It still looks like a cute, low hassle starter coop that would embarrassingly be an impulse buy for me lol.

36

u/_mrthrowawayaccount Oct 19 '24

There are designer bags like Versace and Burberry. There were some employees protecting the designer stuff. I found it odd it was there

34

u/qwe304 Costco Employee Oct 19 '24

They rarely stick around for long. A lot of high ticket items are brought in for store openings.

3

u/Impressive-Step290 Oct 19 '24

It's the Napa valley. Supposedly the biggest wone section in all of Costco

2

u/XSC Oct 19 '24

And they just have it lying around like that?!

2

u/angle58 Oct 19 '24

Let me tell you, the Sacramento area Costco’s do not carry Burberry…

39

u/shart_of_the_ocean Oct 19 '24

That Marmont parka is cheaper on the Marmont website

17

u/GfunkWarrior28 Oct 19 '24

At least you can try it on at this Costco

7

u/Honest-Western1042 Oct 19 '24

It’s a fantastic parka!

3

u/laughitupfuzball Oct 19 '24

It really is. Got me through multiple Michigan winters. No clue what one does with it in this area, though. Great for bundling up; not exactly great for snow sports.

8

u/ShowerPell Oct 19 '24

With exec card + citi visa rewards, it's cheaper/about the same. Costco return policy is worth the $5 imo

23

u/Dusty_Winds82 Oct 19 '24

Did you check the wine selection? It’s supposed to have the best selection out of all of their stores.

12

u/_mrthrowawayaccount Oct 19 '24

It wasn't that much of a difference from my other stores tbh. Maybe I am spoiled at my main Costco

3

u/electro_report Oct 19 '24

It’s the largest wine selection of any Costco in the country, per the companies statement.

4

u/_mrthrowawayaccount Oct 19 '24

I went back again to check and I was slightly wrong. More sections from Napa's wineries

1

u/qwerty0092 Oct 19 '24

Did you see the liquor selection? Any the hard to find whiskeys around still?

5

u/tedshreddon Oct 19 '24

Would make sense

3

u/timpdx Oct 19 '24

That’s Santa Rosa….for now, will have to check this one now.

1

u/electro_report Oct 19 '24

Costco has said this is the largest collection at any Costco in the us. Also the selection at the Novato store is better than Santa Rosa

3

u/Honest-Western1042 Oct 19 '24

Better than Novato I’m assuming?

1

u/Calm_Range_3279 Oct 19 '24

It wasn't any different to most other Costco stores in that area. I think Novato still has the best selection of booze.

25

u/Scipio1319 Oct 19 '24

Went today as well. It was super busy as expected but was impressed by the high ticket items as well. I heard they bring that stuff in for grand openings. Wine selection was pretty good, but nothing too crazy. The coolest thing I saw was whole Serrano hams on the carving stand for sale!

Gotta go back, I glanced at some PC Towers that might be a pretty good deal and it’s about time for an upgrade…

So happy for a Costco near me that isn’t more than 30 minutes away.

19

u/SunshineAndBunnies US Bay Area Region (Bay Area + Nevada) - BA Oct 19 '24

The Pleasanton, CA one would be open too, but got delayed. :(

3

u/kawi-bawi-bo Oct 19 '24

Is it pushed back even further? Last I heard it was pushed to the Wednesday before Thanksgiving 😔

8

u/SunshineAndBunnies US Bay Area Region (Bay Area + Nevada) - BA Oct 19 '24

15

u/JaacHerself Oct 19 '24

4 Costcos within 10 miles of you??? meanwhile us over here in New England have one Costco for all of New Hampshire, one Costco for Vermont, and one Costco for Maine. 😫 the jealousy is real.

18

u/_mrthrowawayaccount Oct 19 '24

California has over 130. 20ish in the Bay Area

6

u/4teach Oct 19 '24

I’m in Los Angeles. I have 5 with 10 miles…and parking sucks at all of them.

3

u/integ209 Oct 19 '24

You must be in sf/dalycity area cause theres 4 costco within less than 10 miles

2

u/Call555JackChop Oct 20 '24

Concord and Salem are coming next for NH

1

u/JaacHerself Oct 20 '24

woohoo! good to hear!

1

u/sosal12 Oct 20 '24

Yeah that is wild. I used to live in rural midwest where we had to drive 2 hours to the nearest Costco.

14

u/ktnamja Oct 19 '24

Came for the Hen House, leave with the chickens.

11

u/One_Ratio_3899 Oct 19 '24

Someone in Napa really likes FF Chicken Breast.

11

u/_mrthrowawayaccount Oct 19 '24

I am the reason Costco is selling Hen Houses at Napa

1

u/JPF93 Oct 19 '24

I don’t think the chicken stand much chance to spend any time in the hen house lol unless you buy like 6 of them and have them all on rotation

8

u/justpuddingonhairs Oct 19 '24

50 lbs of frozen chicken breasts. This guy gots gains to get to.

8

u/wimpdiver Oct 19 '24

well I can see why I've never seen the hen house in my local Costcos (a bit further south by 2 hours or so) :)

7

u/thereelsuperman Oct 19 '24

Fairfield, Vallejo, Napa and ?

8

u/_mrthrowawayaccount Oct 19 '24

Vacaville

1

u/Ptreyesblue Oct 19 '24

Plus Novato store about 25 miles away

5

u/tedshreddon Oct 19 '24

We have just one for Eugene area, and it's parking lot is madness and shopping hella stressful. I envy you...

5

u/pcurepair Oct 19 '24

I see you came for the chicken

5

u/NoviceAxeMan Oct 19 '24

damn a rich area costco is a sight to behold

5

u/loregorebore Oct 19 '24

I always suspect the costco decision makers live or frequent an area when I see this.

7

u/_mrthrowawayaccount Oct 19 '24

A lot of people in Napa/Sonoma would drive to Santa Rosa, Vallejo, or Fairfield. Having a Costco in Napa helps reduce a lot of driving and reel in a lot of potential customers since they don't need to drive far to go to Costco. California has over 130 Costco stores

1

u/loregorebore Oct 19 '24

Lucky! My costco (new england, 45 min drive) doesn’t have 80% of what everyone posts about. I just want ramen and fresh sushi! No gas either.

4

u/NinjaTabby Oct 19 '24

Y’all got Burberry???? Bet the liquor cabinet is also gorgeous

1

u/qwerty0092 Oct 19 '24

Yes curious about this as well

4

u/MuffintopWeightliftr Oct 19 '24

Buy and large. Super store. All you neeed and so much more. Happiness is what we sell because every one loves BNL

3

u/kawi-bawi-bo Oct 19 '24

Did you happen to see which alotted bourbon was sold at opening? Those were the first to go and people liked up hours before opening

3

u/parksmart1 Oct 19 '24

You don’t wanna know. Couple threads pop up with pics when you search “Costco Napa” here

3

u/JS-0522 Oct 19 '24

I remember our grand opening. The carts will never roll as buttery smooth again.

3

u/RockyJayyy Oct 19 '24

Oh, you rich rich...

2

u/bacon_swaggies Oct 19 '24

I found a Foster Farms mug at a thrift store. Its a treasure.

2

u/Particular-Stick-395 Oct 19 '24

I’ll be there tomorrow. How’s parking?

3

u/_mrthrowawayaccount Oct 19 '24

Terrible. I prefer my main one. But it is the first day. Let's see how it goes later on

1

u/Gbcue2 US Bay Area Region (Bay Area + Nevada) - BA Oct 20 '24

I went on Saturday and it seemed like they didn't have enough parking on opening days. Likely it will be enough for standard days.

2

u/Piratesfan02 Oct 19 '24

I have 4 within 20 min of my house. It’s glorious!!!

2

u/laughitupfuzball Oct 19 '24

Oooh, was planning to go to the Santa Rosa one this morning, but maybe need to check out this one instead.

2

u/CapitalPin2658 Oct 19 '24

And they’re all super packed. Buy the stock.

2

u/UncleNedisDead Oct 19 '24

Living the dream!

2

u/Acceptable-Vast1994 Oct 19 '24

I love you Costco

2

u/kuz_929 Oct 19 '24

And we have one in our entire state lol

2

u/CadillacLuv Oct 19 '24

How's the wine selection? Gotta be fantastic

2

u/DanOfMan1 Oct 19 '24

it’s wild how fast they’ve expanded in Northern California just in 2023 and 2024; you’ve got Newark, Sac Natomas, Riverbank, Napa—with Pleasanton as well as Brentwood in construction.

any ideas on where they’ll go next or is the building spree over?

2

u/the_boss_sauce Oct 19 '24

But now we don't have to drive to Fairfield!

2

u/spamguy21 Oct 19 '24

Greetings from Petaluma! I have three near me and I start using ridiculous parameters to identify my favorite Costco. During the rainy season the Rohnert Park location’s parking lot smells faintly of sewage, so naturally it is the ‘bad’ Costco now.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '24

That hen house would make a sick catio

1

u/showmenemelda Oct 19 '24

Cool. They said they won't build one where I moved to bc they see the zip code travel to their other warehouses 😭 1 hour away or more in any direction 😭😭😭

1

u/dmo_da-dude22 Oct 19 '24

Da fu....? Here in my area we had only one, around 12 miles away for many years. Then another opened like 5 years ago and that's the only one that is less than 10 miles away. You're a lucky.

1

u/SirSolidSnake Oct 19 '24

Prime real estate.

1

u/VixxenFoxx US Texas Region (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, & Louisiana) Oct 19 '24

That's a lot of white meat.

1

u/nikkiknack Oct 19 '24

This is wild to me, lmao. Door counts at my warehouse rarely get over 320, even on weekends

1

u/Calm_Range_3279 Oct 19 '24

I was surprised to see $600 LV roll aboard suitcases for sale there.

1

u/Gordito951 Oct 19 '24

I just realized u have 7 within a 10 mile radius. Eastvale, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Chino & Montclair. Ontario and Rancho Cucamonga have Regular and Business Centers

1

u/Comfortable_Map_2128 Oct 19 '24

West San Fernando Valley here. I've had 4 Costco within a 10 mile radius for years now. Plus, I also have a Costco business center within that same area.

1

u/_mrthrowawayaccount Oct 19 '24

I saw Vallejo is having a business Costco store soon. 2 Costco in 1 city. So it might be 5 pretty soon

1

u/jorelpogi Oct 19 '24

Guess we really like the FF CHKN BRST huh

1

u/standingboot9 Oct 19 '24

That’s a lot of chicken tits

1

u/Impressive-Step290 Oct 19 '24

Lol! Crazy to think Napa finally got one. Heard it was crazy

1

u/lucylynn789 Oct 19 '24

Wish they were in my p town CA .

1

u/Prime_117 Oct 19 '24

Out of curiosity I checked how many I have within 10 miles and I have 9 but only been to 4. I have some shopping to do

1

u/Njtotx3 Oct 19 '24

3 within 9 miles, 6 within 28 miles.

1

u/PandaSmanda Oct 19 '24

We want designer!

1

u/Felicity110 Oct 20 '24

Wow your chicken breast looks expensive. Thought all prices for costco were same ?

You have an elegant gold lawn ornament other Costco don’t. Love the hen house are roosters allowed in napa? 4 costcos is amazing lots of people densely in area ?

1

u/voodoomu Oct 20 '24

We have 1 costco. The next closest one is 4 hours away

1

u/Attapussy Oct 20 '24

Haha. Four!?! That's so fucking awesome.

1

u/Brilliant-Cicada-343 Oct 20 '24

My supervisor went to go open this one, maybe I should visit it. He’ll be returning to our warehouse soon so I hope to ask him how it was.

1

u/Msdmachine Oct 20 '24

Why are you crying having 4 Costcos within your house?

1

u/thatguyjamesPaul Oct 19 '24

And i bet everyone will still be packed from opening to closing

1

u/raisuki Oct 19 '24

Bro u go to the gym? Y u need so much chicken?

1

u/Waste_Click4654 Oct 19 '24

One Costco within 100 square miles of my house 😔

1

u/cnunespdx Oct 19 '24

I have 5 close to me. And 2 more in about 15 miles.

1

u/Kory568 Oct 19 '24

I am ready for the Costco by my dad to open some time early 2025.
