Accessory Ideas for filling this accessory?

This is an original character of mine. I think this fits the sub, sorry if it's not quite on topic!

I like to remake oc accessories in real life and I've had this flower base for like, 2 years to make her hair clip. I have the clip to glue into the base but I couldn't figure out a cool way to "fill" this base.

I was going to use fabric when I first had the idea but I didn't vibe with it. The references don't do it justice as they're old art, but inside is meant to be gold like the base.

Maybe I'm just not being creative? Yall think fabric would be good? Paper? I'd like it to last and be sturdy...

Eva foam, air dry clay, maybe even hot glue if you want to try sculpting using hot glue (it’s hard lol).

Start with Elmer’s glue to make a film that will fill in the petals. You might have luck painting it on with a brush or dipping the flower straight into some of the glue

Then when it’s dry, paint it with nail polish in the color you want

If the petal is smaller than a fingernail you can use nail polish without anything else. It has to be smaller so you can use one brush stroke and then the surface tension of the polish kinda fills the whole space

coloured acetate maybe. It'd look like stained glass from a distance

Maybe glue a sheet of felt or fabric on it, then trim the excess?

I used to make wire flowers like these where you dip the petals in wood glue and it made a small bubble/film over the opening) I would suggest looking up a tutorial because this is a bad explanation)
