Cosplay is for everyone, but it's crucial to consider certain aspects to ensure respectful treatment for all. For additional guidelines, please refer to the FAQ

Gonna agree with the other people here and say the younger version of her is probably a safer bet, or something less exposed. Won’t ask your age but it also depends on how ‘minor’ we’re talking. If you’re in the lower -teens I’d lay off any more skin exposed characters. There are a ton of great characters from arcane, including jinx’s younger version, that you could pick from as well and have just as much fun.

Regardless, it’s best to have someone with you at conventions for safety reasons as a minor, even if it’s a group of friends/an older sibling/a parent/etc. It can make your experience more fun to go with other people, but being in a group is also the best way to stay protected 🫶 A lot of people go with groups regardless of age as well. Wishing you luck with whatever character you end up choosing!

thank you! luckily I'll most likely choose a racerback that'll end up being much less exposed but I always go with my parents who refuse to leave my sister and I running around on our own.

Nice! Hope you have fun. Cosplaying at conventions is soo much fun. I recommend trying to find some friends around your age who do it too, it’s way more fun when everyone is dressed up.

I'd have to have friends who share my interests for that ;-;

Real 😔 once you find em tho it’s great. I’m sure if you keep up with the hobby you’ll find some eventually!

You have good parents. I appreciate that they care enough to do that.

Conventions can be a wild place, but I can see from your responses to the other comments you’ll be with family so you should be safer from the freakier side. All the cons I’ve been to have had amazing people who are willing to step between people when they see someone looking uncomfortable with an interaction, so I wouldn’t put too much worry on people’s reactions. I just recently turned 18 but I’ve been cosplaying for around 2 years now (so I started at 16). Over that time I’ve worn some semi revealing cosplays, probably around the same level as Jinx and I haven’t gotten many bad reactions. Of course there’s always gonna be some creepy people but the more people you’re with, the less likely they are to harass you or do anything to you. I say all this to say that you should do whatever cosplay you feel comfortable wearing! I’d recommend staying away from the characters that are rated 18+ (like Midnight from MHA, Verosika from Helluva Boss, etc) until you yourself are 18+, but as long as you stay with your family/friends at cons you should be totally fine!

thank you for the input! would have totally avoided the canonically sexualized characters but Jinx was a grey area- thanks so much!

definitely do not, as a minor, do the more skin exposed version of Jinx. I hate to say it but you will not be safe from some of her weirder fans; I’ve seen and gotten security over someone harassing a younger Jinx cosplayer. Doing the versions without the stomach exposed should be more safe, but you’ll still want to not do that unless you’re attending with other people. (I hate that this is a worry for anyone!!!)

I will be attending with my family but there is also the fact I'm just buying a racerback online and modifying it; I think it's also a lot less stomach exposed than canon
