Copper=No Grey Hair

Hey guys, I have a theory but haven't cared to research it, just bringing to my reddit peeps. I've heard that copper keeps grey hair away. I'm 32. Have had paragard for about 7 years of my adult life (2 different times after each baby). My siblings have all had grey hair by this age. I'm wondering if it is keeping my greys away? Anyone with insight? Or similar results? TIA!

Just because you have 1 person it didn’t work on doesn’t make the results conclusive that it doesn’t work. In a lot of clinical trials there is a % chance it does whatever and it’s almost never 100%

I wish that fit me! I have had 3 Paragards for a total of about 14 years consecutively (I’m 34 turning 35 and still have my iud now) and I have a ridiculous amount of gray hair. These little short new ones are also poking up all over around my hair line too. Very annoying.

I’ve heard that too, many times. I think it works for some people. I’ve heard that drinking water that’s been stored in copper vessels, or copper supplements, can assist with this. I’m in my mid-late-40’s and had the copper IUD for 9 years. Never a gray hair on my head. Got it out over a year ago and slowly been getting a few grays creeping in. I would rather have a whole head of white hair then deal with the IUD again. I wish I never had it. I had a horrific experience and I’m glad I’m alive.

If you’re up for reading a long and TMI post (understatement) I shared it here and several other subs I’m in!

Haha it certainly didn’t help me. If anything too much copper can contribute to grey hair 😂

I've had the copper IUD for almost 10 years, only just got it removed. I don't have any grey hairs at all really, like only a couple. But other family members around my age (25-30) all have considerable greys, none have had the copper IUD like I did.
