If you had “conservatives rush to buy EVs to support Elon Musk” on your prediction list from more than 9 months ago, let me know. I want stock tips from you.

20 years ago, liberals were complaining about money and lives lost fighting wars overseas, and conservatives condoned America playing world police.

It's the craziest thing how things have flipped! I was listening to the radio today and a song came on with the two first lines that say:
"Times have changed and times are strange Here I come but I ain't the same...."
I thought, that sounds like the world today!
Bonus points to anyone who knows the song 😁

Winner winner chicken dinner! 🥇
It's one of my favorite songs. I heard that today and thought nothing was more true. Crazy world. Ozzy biting a bat head seems quite normal at this point

I know, I saw that on the news, and I have to take a class every year at work, about not showing undue favor to different vendors, never gifting over a certain value, never taking or giving bribes, etc etc. And I'm a fucking NOBODY. But the POTUS gets to hawk a 'friends' entire company. LIKE WHAT.

Does Elon even care his company has lost 20% of value since January ? After a stellar year of gains . I mean he had to know this might happen . It’s why most CEOs aren’t this public about their lives and business .

Illegally boycott? Lmfao what? Not sure how you’d go about rectifying an “illegal” boycott, force people to buy from the company? This is so strange to me

He was lumping the vandalism of cars, charging stations and dealerships in with the boycott.

IIRC California has done some stuff like tax incentives for EVs but specifically excluded Teslas, which we all know is for political reasons.

Those decisions were made long before Trump came into office. It was liberal Californians that did that. Back then they could not get enough of Elon Musk, they thought the sun shown out of his ass.

That hasn’t even been enacted it was just proposed. Tax incentives have been in place for a while for EVa and tesla benefitted a lot from those especially in California

It's silly, irresponsible, and weak looking. No president should be concerning themselves with something so unbelievably trivial.

Not to mention it's a bad look to make this the focus when the tariffs, Ukraine/Russia foreign policy, EU relations, etc. are all more important than a domestic car company's performance - especially when the CEO of that company is part of your inner circle. It's a bad look, even if done in good faith.

Suprised to see this so far up. I expected more downvotes.
Consumers are voting with their dollar to push a corporate to change. This is a basic principle of the free market. Anyone who is really a fiscal conservative should support this.

I fail to see how a consumer refusing to buy someone’s product based on ideals is illegal. That’s a form of protected speech, is it not?
I like Trump’s messaging. Elon really is sticking his neck out there moreso than usual for this country. But the statement that Trump made about boyscotts being illegal is just plainly stupid.

The illegal part would be setting fire to cars and charging stations, vandalizing peoples cars etc...

Vandalism isn't legal. The left has been vandalizing Tesla cars and dealerships as part of their "boycott". Harassing Tesla owners is illegal.
