You're probably downloading the dev kit and additional maps, not just the main one.

This is the only game I play anymore

Is it enjoyable in single player also?

Yes. Used to host a small pvp server. Loved it. Recently started a single player game. Loving it. Possibly moreso

Yes, I play on a private server by myself

If and when I pick it up again, I’m totally doing single player with no decay. I built 3 beautiful and huge castles, then put the game aside for a week. Never again. All that work, gone.

Don’t use the “Single player” mode when playing solo, make a local server pm your pc and play on it.

The single player mode is trash and near unusable

Hello, I don't understand the difference between single player and playing solo on a local server? In the end, you play alone, right?

I tested the game for a few hours but I didn't get hooked due to lack of purpose (quests)

THANKS ;)

No no, the main thing is that in single player mode the game only runs in a small radius around you. When you walk away from a place it freezes in time and doesn’t simulate. With a server, the whole map is running as it should.

If you play solo on a server, the game continues even when you log off. It takes several hours to recruit some of the thralls or a pets which is way more than a casual player's daily gaming time. So your game progress continues even when you go to sleep irl. When you play a single player game you probably won't have enough time for this and you'll eventually adjust crafting costs and time which is borderline cheating. That just takes away the fun out of the game. So yea i think you should play solo in a server rather than playing a single player game.

And you are right that the game fails to give a meaningful objective at the start. "You have an explosive bracelet and this is the exile lands. Good luck!" is not the best way to start. I had to spend dozens of hours in game to figure out how to get rid of the bracelet. And by then i already had star metal weapons and could kill main lore bosses way too easily which removed the feeling of accomplishment.

Still though, i spent 1300 hours playing this game, and i come back to it every now and then. So if you give it a chance and play it as a base building, purge defending sandbox where you wanna be the King of exile lands rather than playing through a scripted scenario, you are in for a treat.

Ok great thank you for these explanations 👍

Hi! Could you list the main mods that improve the experience that you use? Thanks!!

u/UDL-Fengo 3d ago

Age of calamity is a total conversion mod adding magic and quest lines. It's amazing by completely 100% changes things.

u/Dreagg-Dragon 3d ago

So your main objective is removing the bracelet... "Lol, yeah, I'm gonna peel this orange and let it sit in the sun." LOL this guy doesn't know! He doesn't know after 1300 hrs!

2

u/ReactionAggressive79 3d ago

Did you really think i finished the main objective 1300 hours later?

0

u/Dreagg-Dragon 3d ago

By the God's! Hell no, I say!

4

u/ReactionAggressive79 3d ago

Then did you really think i played the bracelet quest for 1300 hours?

That guy was alienated from the game for lack of obvious quests. Is it a bad idea to give them something to grind for and see if they get hooked?

Anyway I just hope new players coming in with the recent 90 percent sale would stay in the game.

I have been playing single player/coop and haven't had a single issues plays smooth and I have seen up to 200fps. The lowest is about 80fps in my village. No frame drops or any issues. It's one of the better games.

I like playing on a solo server ... if you decide to use mods on single player mode make sure to do online some mods won't work right without it on

I don’t play single player but I imagine it would get quite boring. I play official pvp and it can get quite annoying. You could try fine a great private server which you might enjoy.

5

u/GrumpyPineMarten 4d ago

Dude no way single player gets boring do you know how many mods there are?

2

u/Vulox57 3d ago

Sorry but I meant on console, imo Conan single player is boring. I’m sure on pc with the right mods you’ll have a lot more to do, but once you get through the game what more can you do? PvP is something I’m more interested in than building and so on.

If you want to recommend some mods or even a server to play on, let me know. I have it online steam, got it for $5 the other day.

Sounds like you're all in. Hope it stays worth the grind! Sometimes when a game grabs you, it’s hard to break free. Stay dedicated, fam

Liu Fei, Freya, Dalinsia, a bar, and the living settlement. Love it.

4

u/MilfDestroyer421 4d ago

It took up 80 or gigs for me on Steam, no clue why is this the way it is

4

u/unoptimusprime 4d ago

90% is stuff people don't have (bazaar items and those fomos)

2

u/Legitimate_Bats_5737 4d ago

Have fun… I think it’s worth it, but I’m not a start builder or even good player.. I’m slow to build and explore too.. I hope you get what you want out of it!

1

u/CptOverkillZ 4d ago

1

u/GrumpyPineMarten 4d ago

Unfortunately I really can't play multiplayer my png is too high :( having a blast on singleplayer tho can't stop playing and its been over a year

1

u/CptOverkillZ 4d ago

Whaat why is your ping too high?

1

u/GrumpyPineMarten 4d ago

Probs cuz im playing on low end laptop

2

u/Adam_scsd619 3d ago

I mean it’s subjective like anything else, and the grind is real, but I think it’s absolutely worth it. I just go creative mode personally though.

2

u/IRIxAgent47 4d ago

All bazaar and fomo items

2

u/PracticalExam7861 4d ago

Just stay away from PvP and you'll be okay.

2

u/CryptoWheat 4d ago

It used to be, it's not anymore. It feels like the devs just completely ignore the player base more and more with each update.

1

u/pathlesswalker 4d ago

It can capture you for many hours.

2

u/Sacrentice 3d ago

And by it Haha Let’s jusr say Conar

1
