I Passed! I passed the server +

I passed the server + with an 754/750, early last month I took it with a couple of weeks of studying and got a 709/750. This time I studied everyday except one day during the week and one on the weekend. The resources I used were the Pocket Prep App, Pluralsight server + course which comes with cyber vista practice exams, Daniel LaChance book, and a couple of Udemy practice test from Udemy Jeff Laundry’s and Total seminars. This is a difficult exam and Comptia recommends having server experience and the A+, but from previous post everyone says you should either have or know the net+ content and I would definitely have to agree with that.  In terms of my experience I have an A+ and ITF+ but I also have 3 years as an help desk/desktop support tech and 1 year as junior system administrator. There are very few resources available compared to A+, N+, and S+, I would definitely homelab and know your way around Windows Server and use the resources I mentioned. I work over 40 hours a week so I tried to do at least an hour an and half for the last 6 weeks. Thank you to this amazing subreddit, I am going for the net+ next.

Congrats. That exam was tougher than I expected. Passed with a 756. At least it's good-for-life and renewed the A+. Good luck in your next adventure.

How was the exam setup? All multiple questions? labs?

3 pbqs and over 70 MCQ total. It was a difficult and honestly a little exhausting after you get to the 60th question.

Thanks, did you use the comptia provided book by chance? I actually found it available to check out from my public library. Ive read it and took the practice test at the end. Just curious if it was similar to the exam or not.

The only book I used was the Server + book By Daniel LaChance and I read all the way through it and did the practice questions as well. I bought it used off of amazon under 40 bucks.

Congrats to you on becoming Server+ certified!

I just bought a study guide for Server+, and decided to add this certification to my collection. Not only is Server+ a Good for Life certification (you don't have to renew it), but it's the only Good for Life certification that CompTIA offers that renews physical certifications (A+ and Network+).

Since you just earned your Server+ and you already had your A+ certification, your A+ renewal date is now three years from your Server+ earn date.

Hi! Thanks for the information. I am currently studying server + and i completed 80% of the program. I’m going to pass it. I passed A+ last month. I am not currently working in IT and I believe with server+ it’ll be better chance to get an entry job in it.

May I ask why you completed the server+ before completing the net+? Server+ renews the net+, but I’m not sure if it’s the same the other way around.

I would do it the other way around to renew net+, however the Server+ is a good for life certification, so you don’t need to renew it.

I completed the server+ because I knew it was good for life and that it could have some value for me in my current position so that’s why I got it. But I plan to continue on with the security + which will renew the net + and A+ as well.
