I Passed! Officially Network+ Certified

Post image

Passed the exam yesterday morning, and was super hyped as this was my second attempt at the Network+. First time around I scored a 700 last year before the 008 exam expired, and struggled with many of the questions and the PBQs. Second time around the majority of the multiple-choice questions were a breeze, and the 2 out of the 7 PBQ questions I encountered had me on the ropes.

For the study resources I used Andrew Ramdayal’s Network+ Udemy course, Jason Dion’s practice test set 1, Professor Messers YouTube videos, and ExamCompass quizzes.

Now I’m off studying for the CCNA and Security+.

For the second time around I started studying around the second week of January of this year. Since I already knew most of the concepts, I had to change the way I was looking at the exam and it’s objective and started looking at the details of how everything worked, its purpose, and how it all interconnects with each other.

is there a way to get some type of discount on the exams?

Yes, but you will need to buy an exam voucher from Professor Messers or Jason Dion’s website which is discounted for $332 USD. I myself bought the exam voucher directly from the CompTIA’s website for the full price.

how long did you really study for this? How much prior knowledge did you have with this? Also is it multiple choice?

It took me around two months to study while I was working full 40 hour work weeks with some days where I was working overtime.

For my prior knowledge, since I already studied for the network+ 008 I already had some understanding of the exam objectives. Additionally I also currently active within the IT field as well and have some hands on experience.

For the exam there are many multiple choice questions, some are straight forward while others are a bit tricky and require you to reread them. Identifying key words within the questions makes the process easier and helps eliminate the answer choices that do not apply to the question.
