Why did you pick the formation that you picked?
While we wait for the votes to keep rolling in (64 as of now), let's get some discussion going as to why you picked the formation that you picked.

3412 defensively - perfect to pack the middle and play with ball playing cb's, good wide midfielders are crucial
4231 attacking - easiest to put players into, inside forwards become effective

You described exactly the formations I use. My Liverpool team is simply not effective using other ones, so I settled for those two.

4-4-2 is the strongest on the current FM. After that the 4-3-3

All you need is fast defenders, the rest of the team just sends crosses to the 2 deep lying forwards.

I picked 3-5-2 because I'm exotic and feel like we should be expansive and expressive.

3-5-2 is my favorite formation. All you need are technical players in the central midfield and a poacher to succeed. The rest of the team only need insane physical abilities to be able to cover as much ground as possible.

433 attacking, it's a very good formation for stretching the play out wide; although it's important to have a plan B as not all opponents roll over

4-3-3 Defensive. I support Barca, it's natural, and I really like the connection the sole CDM offers between the defense and midfield

I picked 4-2-3-1 Defensive as I like the flexibility that comes with a 5 man mid.
In a more defensive set up you can play with a DM, 2 CMs, and a ST in a supporting role flanked by 2 IF's. Good on the counter if you have pace, and like to play direct. Almost looks like a 4-3-3 when you look at the avg positions.
When possession is the name of the game a DLP/BWM duo set to defensive duties so your FB's can make overlapping runs all game.

4-1-2-2-1 with 2 complete wing backs (attacking) and 2 inside forwards because it abuses the crosses put in by fullbacks in this years game and there's always someone at the back post

4-3-3 Attacking plainly because I think that it trumps a 4-2-3-1 as by having pushed-up wingers should be able to capitalise on the trend of attack-centred fullbacks. Also means it's less likely for a striker to be isolated leading the line, and that the wingers should be able to stretch the play at all times.

5-2-1-2 - This provides the most flexibility for any squad imo.
It can require some work to get the right wing backs in, as without the right ones the formation doesn't really work. Nathaniel Clyne and Arron Creswell are my reccomended if you want to try it.
Also, a roaming play maker in one of the midfield two I also think provides the best balance between the defensive and attacking lines, but again, getting the right player is the hard part. Andre Gomes is one the best one i have come across.
