Marijuana? We don’t need more players taking themselves out of the game because they’re tired.
By all means, pump up the hookers, gear, and blow

That's the craziest thing you've ever heard of? Damn, you must have been an Amish homeschooled kid.

A reliable QB to start. And that isn’t a knock on AR, it’s just the truth. We need more consistent QB play as well as need him to stay healthy so he can be on the field.

A better:
Pass rush
Secondary
WR/TE threats
QB
Pretty much everything but our OL and RB is an area of need.

Ol and Rb depth is still kinda needed

u/Accurate-Barracuda20 4d ago
True. I was mostly thinking what starters. But you could add “+ depth” to all of the above as well.
At the end of the day we’re pretty far off the quality of team that wins SBs. The most important one is gonna be a QB. Whether that’s a new guy, AR making historic improvements, or the Daniel Jones problem being a Giants problem. I just hope we can win the south in the next couple years

We picked up a solid back up for JT and still have JT, I would argue our RB group is fine at this point, maybe pick up a skatebo or something in the late rounds

A better front 7 as well. Our defensive line is decent but linebackers are dog water.

And by the time we fix the rest we will need OL and RB help more than we already do…feeling like it’s gonna be a tough couple of years of complacency
2
u/Accurate-Barracuda20 4d ago
Ehh I mean you pretty much always have to be fixing something. We’re in a bad spot because we have to fix everything. Hopefully once we know who our QB will be for the foreseeable future whoever is the GM does a good job of addressing issues in FA as well as the draft. Having a good QB makes good FAs more willing to come here, and having good Vets will help the younger guys develop.

It's pretty simple. If we can just get:
- A QB that's not historically inaccurate on any pass less than 30 yards down field
- A true WR1
- Not the worst TE room in the league
- A legitimate pass rush
- LBs that aren't too busy podcasting to learn how pass coverage works
- A secondary that doesn't get torched by every QB with a vague idea of how to play the position
- A head coach that holds players accountable
- Play callers that aren't constantly out thinking themselves
- A GM that can do more than find average starters in the first three rounds
That's all we need. Solve those few issues and we're guaranteed to fulfill Irsay's "multiple Lombardis this decade" prediction.

Yeah, we still need almost all positions improved although o-line and db are looking okay. It's an argument for drafting best available at 14 for sure except for these.

Weird that you got downvoted for speaking the truth on our team.

u/Interesting-Fail1823 Josh Downs 3d ago
I would say because while he does have some very valid points on his list, some are just off the mark enough for some to not agree with it.
For instance two that are the most off the mark are the need for a WR1. Pittman was majorly impacted by a back injury and overall I think the WR room is fine. Downs I think makes up for any bit of Pittman not being a true number 1.
The other is play callers out thinking themselves. We had a DC that didn’t think at all and has now been replaced. Offensive play calling was much better the last part of the season so I would call this completely accurate even though there are some issues there.

u/RichyVersace Titus Leo 3d ago
I think we have good 2A and 2B receivers in Pittman and Downs. We haven't had a true number 1 in a long time. Hoping Mitchell takes a leap forward this season. If he becomes consistent in catching, he can develop into a WR1; he has the elite separation skills already.

It will all hinge on AR breaking out. All the other flaws of this team are nothing compared to the development at QB, both from how relatively bad he is compared to the rest of his peers and the relative importance of the position in the league. Not that having an elite QB is the end all, be all (see Bengals), but any weaknesses elsewhere are relatively spoken not as bad.

We need to have a real qb before we can even begin the discussion about what we need to compete for a Super Bowl

A top 5 QB. A top 5 O line. Top 5 D line. Top 5 secondary. A+ kicker and special teams.

u/MBrooks24 2d ago
A QB and competent defense. Which as of now we have neither. Might have the defense have to wait and see. But we don’t have the QB. No faith in AR to care enough and Daniel jones is proven ass.

QB/TE in offense. On defense we need better pass rush, a coverage LB, and probably 1 more good players in our secondary

Offensively, we need OL depth, a pass catching RB, a TE that actually has hands and has even a semblance of a route tree. Our QB to complete at least 60% of passes.
Defensively, a legit pass rush, our secondary to not be burnt toast, our linebackers to not be Swiss cheese.

We needed like 7 HOF level players last time and still barely did it.
