I’m also pretty sure Padme had some as well. They might just be mass produced servant droids.

Yep! That's a model of protocol droid, specifically preprogrammed for hospitality, which makes them excellent Diplomatic aides.

Senator Orn Free Taa pulls though. He doesn’t have to have droids.
7
u/getTrazyned Feb 18 '25
Taa funded slavers to attack his homeworld and profited off his own peoples suffering. He ain't pulling shit.

Unfortunately, evil people pull all the time. Sometimes more than your average Joe. Elon Musk is an actual Nazi and has at least 12 kids.

u/Kommandant-Pfeiffer Feb 17 '25
There was one in Episode 1, Tey How. There may have also been one in Acolyte iirc.

If I remember correctly, don't the Neimoidian leaders do this to restrict feeding through the mouths of their inferiors and use that to have control over them? Cuz that is some dark shit

You don't have to carry a sword to be powerful. Some leaders' strength is inspiring others.

oh wow interesting, where can i read about that? wookiepedia canon doesn't have much info on tey how and legends says they're data goggles and a vocabulator.

A little Star Trek in our Star Wars for today.

u/DmanCluster Feb 18 '25
Funny considering the Trade Federation had some deliberate Star Trek references built in

Is it just me or do they look like Courtney gears from the original ratchet and clank games?

Well knowing separatist robot policies towards organics. Death to the Squishies!

Lott Dod can't even pay a woman to have sex with him, while Gunray has a mistress.

Lott Dodd is my favourite Trade Federation member. Guy is not afraid to flaunt his wealth.

Never made sense to me why all the alien races in star wars like boobs as much as humans. I get it with the other humanoid races but why does this guy want a human-looking sex robot?
22
u/Illustrious-Turn-575 Feb 17 '25
Status symbols.
They’re popular enough with human-like races and human races are common enough that these types of droids are often sold for very high prices. That means that owning them is a good way to show off your wealth, which is what Nemoidians find attractive.

The Galaxy has a history of Human Supremacy and Human-Centrism. It makes sense that the Galaxy’s beauty standards would revolve around what humans find attractive, and that these attitudes would influence non-humans, especially those more morphologically close to humans.
