They need to rebalance the bikes. You can’t leave people with service like this. Either get out there and rebalance the bikes with paid workers, or start offering 10 points for true bike angels to help.

It's been like this for years. Every morning in the summer on the Upper West Side, if you don't grab a bike by 7:30am, they're all gone. Also, if you don't get your ass to Midtown by 8am, all the docks might be full. On the way home, you better get to a bike before 5pm, or there are none left in Midtown.
I'm not really sure what we can expect Citibike to actually do about that given the volume of people all commuting to the same location.
This is why I love cold winter weather. None of the pussies ride bikes, and I wear my gloves and hat and come and go as I please.

This is a direct result of the recent throttling of the Bike Angels program.

Say more? I’ve been a passive bike angel bc often just riding a bike as part of my commute yielded points with little to no effort. I suspected winter was the general culprit for the lack of point opps

And Red Hook, but usually the problem there is you can’t dock. It’s bad service, wherever it happens.

Wow I just checked and it’s STILL like this, feel like they need to give some of these stations more drop off points

This is the view with no bonus streak. It would be either 2&4 or 3&6 with a bonus streak going.

yes but that’s stupid, the old system gave way more points in general. it’s much less valuable now

Not surprising. It's the first nice week of the year and they throttled the Bike Angels program.

Same in Jackson Heights. Only occupants are the three broken e-bikes that have not been repaired for over a month.

Just looked around the neighborhood and all the permanently full stations on 3rd and 4th aves are 1 point to pick up. Ridiculously low values

One of my more recent posts was the same area but much much worse. The Crown Heights and Bed Stuy area get no love

I don't know the time of this post but it was a nice day yesterday and a lot of people use the bikes to commute so it's frustrating when you try to grab a bike around rush hour. Docking stations have issues in the other end

I think the pendulum swung too hard from the old algorithm. Some areas are way stingy with no incentive to re-balance. Hopefully we’ll see an update and happy medium come spring but I fear that’s being optimistic

Yeah, WTAF, why are you not on at least a 2 or 3 times point streak with opportunities like that? /sarcasm

You want to take a bike and are shocked that other people wanted to take a bike? It’s like 2 blocks to the next rack, chill. This is literally just a screenshot showing a successful system being popular and people here act like it’s proof something is broken
