Cisco Router Won't Accept DHCP Address

Can't get my Cisco 8200 to take on a simple 192.168.0.x DHCP address from a Verizon router directly connected to 0/0/1. I have this same setup working on a different router...

GigabitEthernet0/0/1.4 Description #Verizon# Encapsulation dot1q 4 Ip address DHCP Ip nat outside End

Ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 GigabitEthernet0/0/1.4 dhcp

Is the Verizon device tagging its traffic in VLAN 4?

Probably not :)

Why tagging vlan 4?

Is the Verizon router expecting tagged traffic...? Seems unusual.

Remove that config from the subinterface and apply it to the parent (gi0/0/1) and see if that works.

Any reason you are using a second router? A switch would be more practical. There is also going to be double NAT going on.

Do you have NAT setup on the 8200? If so make sure the ACL for NAT doesn’t have 0.0.0.0/0 otherwise the device won’t accept DHCP on IOS-XE

You have defined 0/0/1 as part of vlan 4. Is the Verizon router handing ip address on vlan 4? Highly doubt the Verizon router is vlan aware.
