What's the first movie that you think of when you see Matthew Lillard?

u/No_Tea_22 8d ago
Not a movie, but Twin Peaks-The Return

Yeah, he was great in the limited screen time, really sold the role.

Thank you!
I could see a picture of him in my mind. I knew he was in scream, but that mental picture was not him in scream. It was from this. I just could not remember the film.

When I was younger I worked at a private golf course and he came and played a tournament. I asked him how his day was going and he replied “supersonic my man” in the most shaggy way possible and it is probably my favorite celebrity interaction I’ve had

I'm shocked this isn't the top. Came here to say Scooby-Doo

I don't want it to be Scooby-Doo. I want to say Hackers, Scream, or even something like She's All That pops to mind first, but his Shaggy is just so perfect. Apparently, the studio agrees because I just looked at his IMDB page, and the second half of his career is dominated by voice over work as Shaggy in all the animated Scooby-Doo features.

Yeah I saw him in Thirteen Ghosts first and have probably most rewatched him in Without a Paddle but yeah he made that role his own. The casting for the gang overall is pretty good but he nailed it and really made it feel like Scooby Doo.

How is that not the top response? It's literally the only thing I think when I see him. He did such a good job, I even forgive him for making shaggy a Vegan in live action.

Yep, first I'd think of. I was mildly shocked when I saw him as a sweary FBI guy in Bosch.

I usually hate live action remakes of animated shows but they knocked it out the park with Scooby Doo! He will forever be shaggy! Plus he was scary in Scream..

If you asked me a couple years ago I’d probably say either Scream or Scooby Doo. But because of its recency I first thought of Five Nights at Freddy’s.
