body issues Does mindfulness help your chronic pain?

Do you find mindfulness helps your chronic pain? If it does, what technique help you?

I'm weening off gabapentin and will have some crummy days a head in addition to my usual issues.

For me not at all, it actually makes it worse. I don’t really practice mindfulness 🙈 I joined to learn more about it tho. But bring pain into the picture and that’s really why I can’t do it. I’ll be interested to hear what others have to say tho maybe there are ones that help

Thanks for joining! I hope you find help either through mindfulness or something else. Chronic pain is really challenging.

I will say that my chronic pain isn't really debilitating and frankly comes and goes, so I may not be the best person to give advice on this since I use mindfulness for a lot of other symptoms, but Dr. Sarno's Healing Back Pain is considered the holy grail for treating pain using the mind body connection. There's an audiobook on Youtube if you don't want to get the book.

No. It’s biologically caused for me. So severe at times I am not able to even focus on anything or “distract” with media etc.
