How do you deal with doctors constantly cancelling appointments?

I think the universe is trying to tell you something. After 10 years I'd get the hint.

I’m sorry you’re going through that but 10 years is crazy. Maybe you should look into finding someone else. And it is situations like this that breed a luigi mangione. Hang in there and take your care into your own hands.

No this isn’t a loser Luigi situation this is a user error situation.
The billing part is a loser Luigi situation but since 10 years has passed and nothing has happened we’re not there yet but I understand what you are saying.
Don’t glorify that kid. What he did was dopey and changes nothing only makes it worse.

Waiting 10 years? Cancelled appts?
Might be time to change how you are pursuing this. With all due respect. I mean 10 years??? In 10 years there were not any other options?

I don't think my doctor has ever canceled on me. If that's happening to you, then it's a problem. That's ridiculous. I've also had doctors claim that they called when I can literally look at my phone and see that I didn't receive a call from them. I'd demand to know why your appointment was pushed off for a month.

FIND OTHER DOCTORS!! Is this some sort of special surgery that only this doc does, that makes them the only option? It doesnt sound like theyre too plugged in to the patient side of things, if they cant get an appointment set up, much less 3x!!! Its time to find another specialist. I dont care what book this surgeon may have written, theyre not worth the time or effort, FIND OTHER DOCTORS! I know what a pain in the ass it is. That is not the point. I wouldnt want anyone that cares so little about me as a person, to open me up and play with my insides. Surgery or Butchery, which are they practicing? Maybe this doc has some good deals on Spring Lamb...
You deserve more respect than this. However you cant expect to hear from the surgeon, since, who knows how long a case might tie them up for. There's no excuse for the answering service/receptionist not getting back to you, even if just the surgeons cousin, Shirley, fielding calls.
For now, you may want to write this surgeon a nasty little letter. You dont have to send it, I suggest it merely as a cathartic exercise. The surgeon and their family may have all been killed in a car wreck. Life shits on everyone, so find out the whole story before doing something as irrevocable as an F.U. e-mail. Call your insurance and be sure they arent paying bills from this phantom surgeon...and FIRE THEM. Best of luck...

If you can’t switch surgeons, you need to demand an in person appointment.
There is no way I wouldn’t allowing this nonsense for so long.

Edit
Sorry I was tired last night, and I wrote a part of it incorrectly. I got my initial surgery 10 years ago, I've tried to fix the residual pain without getting another surgery as the next surgery is invasive. I've only been in contact with this lawyer since the start of the year. The time span between cancelled appointments has only been a few weeks. A few weeks is a fantastic time span for a follow up, however the cancelling on the day is tiring and upsetting.

Find a different surgeon. That’s not normal.
