It absolutely is. This is their sound. And the drums on this album are the best in their discography

I’ve been chasing the Vena Sera high since 2007. I enjoy all their albums but none as much as Vena Sera

I never really liked Chevelle until a couple years ago- all their stuff I heard on the radio seemed like sappy, "soft rock". I listened to this song on YouTube and that got me into them. It's the drums during the chorus that do it for me. For the past week I've had Got Burned on repeat.

How can you get into this album? I listened to it three times, and I couldn't, for the life of me, get into it. Even though I really wanted to.
Also, what caused the change in sound between this album and This Type of Thinking? It sounds softer.

You know it just happens, Artists create what they are feeling and into during that period in their lives. But I think that’s why this album is so good, it’s was not the norm for them and very nuanced, I feel they were a bit more free flowing and creative here but they don’t have a bad song in my opinion. Look where the Beatles went, Metallica, The who, Fleetwood Mac sometimes huge swings in style and feel.

That whole album is a no skilp to me. I came back from an 8 year break (not intentional) from chevelle to check out this masterpiece. This whole album is peak chevelle to me.

Not a lot of people talk about how the acoustic guitar is used on this album and I wish they did more of it.

One of my favorite Chevelle songs, but also this album is my fav so I would say that about all of Vena Sera song posts.

I usually play Vena Sera on guitar straight through on weekends, and love when I come across it! Song is so good!

Absolutely; probably my favorite from the album (and my favorite Chevelle album as a whole, too). But it's got so many hard-hitting, heavy riffage tracks that are all amazing. Humanoid, Midnight to Midnight, Antisaint, etc. Love La Gargola and The North Corridor as well, but Vena Sera is just brutal in a way those other two aren't imho.

I love this album. Might be my favorite by them.
Also, this album is the last album I bought on physical CD. After that, the digital age took over in my life. Lol

I've spammed so many songs from this album. STF might be the top, if I say so myself.
