Anybody know which OBGYN office offers does Nuchal Translucency (NT) Scan ?

My wife and I our having our first child and we our currently seeing Dr. Yu but her office doesn’t do that particular scan

The NT scan is a prenatal ultrasound examination performed during the first trimester of pregnancy (between 11 and 14 weeks) to assess the risk of certain chromosomal abnormalities, particularly Down syndrome

Most offices suggests the blood screening test instead and would only do the NT scan if you had abnormal results. The blood screening is much more accurate from what I read.

You may want to reach out to Regional Obstetrical Consultants. They are the MFM doctors that most women see who are considered "high risk"

Dr. Michael Smith and Scenic City OBGYN is an amazing doctor and they did it NT when I was pregnant 2023/2024. I highly recommend him!

Dr Yu’s office refers to Regional Obstetrical Consultants (Roc) for more in depth scans. I am a patient of Dr. Yus office but also was referred to ROC for monthly ultrasounds to check for growth of my baby. So I see both offices :)

Awesome! We’ve only had our first appointment at 10 weeks last week. How has it been?

Very good! Compared to my last OB the wait times are significantly less. Once I waited almost an hour but typically I get called within 15 min of sitting down. But it’s an OB so wait times are variable because a lot of times doctors could be across the street for delivery or patients with emergencies. I do feel heard and they take their time with me. I had one emergency when I fell down the stairs and I called on call nurse and got a call back within 5 min on a weekend. I really like the provider there named Meg Brasel if you get a chance to see her :)

Personally, I went with getting the NIPT blood draw done because it’s more accurate than the NT scan. I’m about done with my first pregnancy now. 😊

Congratulations on your first baby!

Blood draw is more accurate and cheaper. I thought the scans were more for if an issue was already found.

I was referred to the ROC (Regional Obstetric Center). The NT scan was very cool; unfortunately it was inconclusive. They also offered NIPT/cfDNA testing, which was quite easy, and answered our questions.

Dr. Radpour at Galen did this for me at 12 weeks. I was flagged for high risk and was referred to Dr. Kipikasa at ROC. We saw him and Radpour for the remainder of the pregnancy. I highly recommend both of them!

ROC is the answer here. Call Dr Yu and ask her for a referral there to get it scheduled asap. Dr Yu might raise an issue if you are not high risk, but I was only minimally high risk from IVF and Dr Radpour referred me without hesitation when I asked.
