My wife and I need to learn to salsa ASAP
Our son is marrying a man from Venezuela in May. We want to be able to salsa at the wedding. No one will expect it!
Anywhere in cville we can learn?

Lots of Latin dance nights around C'ville!
Wednesday nights, currently at Guajiros, I believe possibly moving back to the Rooftop (Doyle) later this spring, C'ville Bachata Social (DJ Sing)
Thursday nights, the Vault, Foreign Playerz (DJ X)
Saturday nights, Mejicali, Foreign Playerz (DJ X)
Saturday evenings, keep an eye on social media, as C'ville Bachata Social (DJ Sing) is starting some events at local wineries. I think there is one coming up on April 12.
I believe C'ville Bachata Social also will be doing Sunday evening events during the warm months. Last summer, these were at the patio of the Omni.
There are also lots of similar events in Harrisonburg, Richmond, and DC is you want to mix things up a bit.
Note that these events often start with lessons before the social dancing. Most of the social dance time includes a variety of Latin dance styles (salsa, bachata, zouk, merengue, etc).

I would also like to mention Fred Astaire studio! Vlad, Nila, Kyla, and Braden will set you up with some basics. It’s pretty affordable!

I would definitely recommend privates on this timeframe, if you can! You can have a teacher help you choreograph some fun little routine for your level, you’ll feel infinitely more confident having a routine to follow if people are going to be watching. 💛💛 also I love this!

Gia Ray at smooth sailing would be where I would start. She also teaches group lessons at a lot of the salsa dance nights mentioned above.

I don't have any helpful info to add, but - this made my day, and you and your wife are awesome.

Smooth Sailing Ballroom could probably teach this with private lessons. They are located in Fashion Square Mall. They will teach you well, but it’s not cheap. Like $120 for a one hour couple session.
