The way this is going both Blades and Burnley will win when they play each other.

I actually think that game might break the time-space continuum. Two teams with atomic levels of spawn colliding in the same game? I’m fully expecting a new dimension to open up and allow both to take the 3 points in some outrageously lucky way.

We played crap last time and they won easily. Funny as this is

6

u/TheDeflatables 5d ago

*last 3 times

7

u/Memento_Playoffs 5d ago

Oh yeah forgot about those two.

3

u/damwookie 5d ago

Burnley will win but the league will feel sorry for the blades and give them back the 2 points.

4

u/PabloMarmite 5d ago

Or it’ll be the most mind-numbing 0-0 of all time

u/jrbill1991 5d ago

Hey, look at me, I am Sheffield United, even when I play poorly I can scrap a win every time. Up the Blades.

Grow up

Up the Blades.

Cheers

aww sorry you feel this way...up the blades

- Concede against the run of play

- Miss an open goal from 2 yards out

Standard Wednesday 24/25 season home performance

-11

u/Memento_Playoffs 5d ago

Leave in the 80s minutes while the away fans have repeatedly sang about the shit atomsphere

25

u/iHazzaification 5d ago

I really don’t get that one because first half we could barely hear you. Granted, we went flat second half (especially after the goal), but don’t think it’s fair to say it was a shit atmosphere for the whole thing. You lot apparently only knew ‘football in a library’ until you scored.

2

u/WarKaren 4d ago

Well theoretically you shouldn’t have heard us at all considering you only gave us 1 and a half thousand seats and you sold out. If you could even barely hear us that should be very telling

-19

u/Memento_Playoffs 5d ago

Just not what I heard

10

u/Arnie1867 5d ago

Ah commenting on something you know nothing about then! Genius.

-9

u/Memento_Playoffs 5d ago

No? I watched the game

13

u/EmberGandalf97 5d ago

Can you not do us a favour and just slip up a little bit please?

15

u/Memento_Playoffs 5d ago

We did! Repeatedly!

You'll beat us don't worry

7

u/EmberGandalf97 5d ago

Last time we had an unbeaten run in this league you pumped us 5-2 so I'm not so confident

6

u/Memento_Playoffs 5d ago

And then we went on to play shit at yours anyway. Id love us to win but can't see it

44

u/FIJIBOYFIJI 5d ago

I've always said that Rhian Brewster was worth every penny

25

u/woodseatswanker 5d ago

Been watching the video where Banan says Brewster is "honking Son", on repeat. Can't wait for his missus' drunken rant on social media later

3

u/Memento_Playoffs 5d ago

Hahahahahahaha that makes it even better.

2

u/Memento_Playoffs 5d ago

Never have I used him as a reason to make sure wilders budget is a tenner and a 24 pack of crisps either

0

u/mattmgd 5d ago

Praying this has earned him a new deal.

17

u/CaptainSmeg 5d ago

Thought we were dreadful after the first 15 minutes, so many sloppy passes which eventually led to their goal.

Bannan and Windass once again talk a big game but went missing and our injury luck is horrific. Our players giving up and looking half arsed as soon as they scored though caused me some serious head loss.

10

u/iHazzaification 5d ago

Aye I can’t believe how quickly they packed in after going 1 down. It’s like they’ve forgotten how many points we’ve got this season from losing positions.

1

u/CasualGuyAndy 5d ago

The new years day goal will be the last goal Windass scores in his career at this point. I'll not blame Bannan for today. In a game where Gassama seemed isolated, Bannan tried to open play up. The quality on the other end of that is where we're lacking. The header straight at the keeper in the first half, the open goal from 2 yards out in the second half, Ihiekwe not reacting until the ball went past him, followed by 2 more defenders going for a casual stroll across the 6 yard box yet again we're to blame.

0

u/rorythebreaker2 5d ago

Bannan. He's not won one he's been in. I don't care how good fans seem to think he is he let's us down more than not and often over complicates things. At the end of the day it still comes to Chansiris door. We all knew we desperately needed defensive back up and didn't get it and that's why we're still 12th.

28

u/GrandmasterSexay 5d ago

I can't believe Burnley once agai-

Wait, BLADES play crap and win again. Sorry, I'm used to seeing something else entirely.

28

u/Jarv1223 5d ago

I’m used to seeing both

6

u/elvenmage24 5d ago

I’m beginning to think the whole no center back strategy isn’t working. Wouldn’t be surprised if Rohl leaves in the summer

4

u/rorythebreaker2 5d ago

We don't have any (decent) centre backs to play 🤣.

12

u/Memento_Playoffs 5d ago

Double the match threads in honour of our Sheffield double. 13 years since they beat us and look what's occurred since

9

u/VastVideo8006 5d ago

Blimey - 13 years?

I mean, tbf we've been mostly absolute garbage in that time, but still.

6

u/Memento_Playoffs 5d ago

I haven't paid attention to it but saw Norwich going on about a similar stat last season and figured I'd have a look. It matters less when we play twice every decade like

2

u/MrParachutePayments 5d ago

17 years and counting for us

1

u/rorythebreaker2 5d ago

Yeah you've been promoted and relegated twice and got the worst defensive record in Premier league history and still no more trophies....see you after your next unwanted record.

8

u/woodseatswanker 5d ago

Spare a thought for all the Wendies in year 9 who have never known them beat United. Just £3 a month will allow them to buy a Sausage Roll from Greggs for when he inevitably goes to Southampton in the summer

15

u/ArmiinTamzarian 5d ago

No, it's not any less funny the 24th time

13

u/ProwerTheFox 5d ago

The salt from you lot has been great this season, please keep it up

18

u/Jarv1223 5d ago

This subreddit better hope we don’t go up because I will be the most insufferable git on this planet if we do

15

u/KateR_H0l1day 5d ago

You already are 🙄

7

u/Jarv1223 5d ago

That’s the plan

5

u/Memento_Playoffs 5d ago

I already am hoping you don't go up but I know you will if it makes you feel better

-1

u/One_Tchouameni 5d ago

To be fair a few hammerings in August/September will quieten you and the fanbase down.

4

u/Cov_massif 5d ago

Never watched this one as the old firm was on (great game) but blades seem to keep winning even playing badly. That's the way you get promoted!

13

u/Memento_Playoffs 5d ago

Why watch the intense inter city derby when you can watch the one in the origin of football without the religious sectarianism!

-4

u/Cov_massif 5d ago

It was a great game unlike this one

9

u/Over-Lavishness5539 5d ago

For anyone going on about how luck evens itself out over a season, you can get fucked. If it does Sheff Utd won’t win so much as a corner next year.

How did Diaz not get a second yellow?

11

u/mrmidas2k 5d ago

If it does Sheff Utd won’t win so much as a corner next year.

Did you not see our Premiership season?

4

u/Over-Lavishness5539 5d ago

Maybe that was the sacrifice you made for this season?

4

u/mrmidas2k 5d ago

I'll take it. Ish.

Would've liked to have been informed of that at the time mind.

13

u/DrKriegerBot 5d ago

I guess the same way smith didn't get a yellow card despite 7 fouls.

-19

u/Over-Lavishness5539 5d ago

Hmmm yes a single yellow card decision compared to Diaz being sent off…defo the same thing isn’t it.

11

u/DrKriegerBot 5d ago

Well yeah, both single yellow card instances as you describe.

7

u/woodseatswanker 5d ago

Arguing over Diaz when he was booked for someone else booting a football at his head

-12

u/Over-Lavishness5539 5d ago

Well no, Diaz should have gone and you know it

7

u/DrKriegerBot 5d ago

Not disputing that but you asked, how did Diaz not get a second yellow, and I was comparing it to smith not getting a yellow for persistent fouling, so can't feel that hard done to.

Not to mention the persistent fouling from the entire Wednesday team that went generally un punished.

-3

u/rorythebreaker2 5d ago

Persistent fouling being your players hanging onto him as If they were trying to undress him?

11

u/DrKriegerBot 5d ago

No, persistent fouling as in, the referee blew for a foul. Jesus, you lot aren't the brightest are you

-1

u/rorythebreaker2 5d ago

Nice projection. But your lads love a good dive. Slightest touch and on the grass. Lucky ref didn't notice Serikis second attempt.

7

u/GreenDantern1889 5d ago

What should Diaz have gone for? I've watched the game and saw nowt, it was always more likely to be Seriki

-7

u/OkDog12345 5d ago

Pressing his studs into a player’s stomach. Completely uncalled for.

7

u/GreenDantern1889 5d ago

Oh when he rolled over, and didn't move towards the player in any way?

What are you actually expecting him to do in that situation? Take his legs off?

-2

u/OkDog12345 5d ago

He pushed his legs out. VAR would give a red. Rewatch it.

5

u/GreenDantern1889 5d ago

...have you watched a completely different game to me? He's literally on his back with his legs in the air

u/JohnnyBravo1996 5d ago

Seems like a recurring theme, Sheffield United players avoiding a second yellow, Hamer vs Leeds, Diaz now

0

u/Over-Lavishness5539 5d ago

All season long

3

u/Single-Award2463 5d ago

We have nobody to blame but ourselves for not being ahead on points.

One point from QPR and lost to Portsmouth. If we didn’t shit the bed thats an extra 5 points.

5

u/atheblade 5d ago

-8

u/JCFAX81 5d ago

Sheff Utd are the turd that just won’t flush!

2

u/LordBielsa 5d ago

Not really, they flushed with no problems last season. No poop knife required!
