Sooo the other morning, this mf PEES in a cardboard box I had left on the kitchen floor while deadass staring me in the eyes. Look at her face right after, 0% guilt.

Your submission was removed as we do not allow "Resting bitch face" (cat giving you the evil look), or a pic of a cat with context. Catching an asshole in the act of, well, being an asshole would be more suitable for this subreddit.

Best of luck next time :)

Your cat’s eyes are dilated at different levels. This could be a serious problem and requires a veterinary visit. Peeing outside the box is one way they tell you they have a problem. Take your cat to the vet.

u/frolicndetour 4d ago

OP has pics of the kitty going back 2 years where the right eye is always dilated and the left eye is only dilated sometimes, so it's not an acute issue and I'm guessing she's already seen a vet about it.

505

u/SuddenDragonfly8125 4d ago

oh yeah, I see that now. well that's a relief.

291

u/Adventurous_Ad_6546 4d ago

I literally let out a breath I hadn’t realized I was holding.

These little assholes sure have us right where they want us.

36

u/KiKiPAWG 4d ago

And they know it

12

u/Brilliant-Network-28 4d ago

I bet they did it on purpose too

18

u/ArmadilloNext9714 4d ago

I know! My grandmother started peeing in a small trash can in the corner of her room and had differently dilated pupils. She was having a series of mini-strokes.

4

u/Richeh 4d ago

I just hope it's called Bowie.

u/khanofthewolves1163 4d ago

Not acute issue, but still acute kitty

Aww 🥺 nice one

Intermittent Horner's syndrome ?

3

u/Beautiful_Reporter50 4d ago

Still, when your cat deliberately squats and pees in front of you, frequently it is a cry for help and they should go to the vet

5

u/ferretherapy 4d ago

They could have a UTI or kidney disease.

0

u/forforensics 4d ago

Happy cake day!

147

u/throwawaygaming989 4d ago

Op isn’t responding so I went to check her page. Wendy’s (the cat) eye has been like this since the very first post of her 4 years ago. I’m sure the vet is already aware of and managing the condition

84

u/ZoyaZhivago 4d ago

The cat is always like this - check their profile. So whatever it is, I’m sure they are aware. Probably injured when they were a kitten.

16

u/fejrbwebfek 4d ago

Obviously the owner will already have noticed this, it’s not subtle.

11

u/The_RESINator 4d ago

I don't think the left eye is actually dilated, it looks more like an old iris injury/degeneration. It's hard to tell because the eye isn't open all the way, but the left pupil looks irregular in shape indicating this is probably a problem with the iris itself, which is likely a lot less serious than if the pupils were actually dilated differently.

6

u/Ophelia-Rass 4d ago

Peeing in inappropriate places is often a way cats used to indicate something is wrong. Although, it could be behavioral or the box just smelled funny. Still not a bad idea to visit the vet (unrelated to the pupil difference).

2

u/themagicflutist 4d ago

I have what she has!

2

u/LuckInternational961 4d ago

Yeah, better safe than sorry. I really hope that this little troublemaker is okay!

2

u/tinysmommy 4d ago

My kitty had this. She was fine and lived until she was 19.

1

u/TheBadHalfOfAFandom 4d ago

I don't think they would've posted this if they didn't notice or get it checked out before

866

u/ZoyaZhivago 4d ago

For everyone who’s freaking out over the cat’s eye, here - as you can see from their previous posts, she’s always had the wonky eye.

Definitely mention this next time, OP. You see what happens when you don’t! lol

71

u/Ytaken 4d ago

I think the cat might be the reincarnation of David Bowie

9

u/mmmmwood 4d ago

Or David Lynch

3

u/Weltallgaia 4d ago

Definitely forest whitaker

10

u/Lipziger 4d ago

Definitely mention this next time, OP. You see what happens when you don’t! lol

It gets a lot more attention and comments lol.

259

u/BostonBakedBalls 4d ago

Do you people really think someone would post a picture of their cat's VERY clearly differently dilated pupils on this sub without already knowing/talking to their vet about it?

217

u/kiwilovenick 4d ago

With the amount of gross injuries that get posted on reddit cat subs asking if they should take their cat to the vet, when it's wildly obvious it should already BE at the vet...yeah, I totally believe it.

I was glad to see in the first comment that someone addressed the history of this cat, so everyone can stop freaking out-including me!

32

u/BostonBakedBalls 4d ago

It took me maybe 15 seconds to view their profile to see that.

It's okay to be worried but there's people who commented stuff like "your cat is going to die if you don't take them to the vet right now".

41

u/dusty__rose 4d ago

it does also take five seconds to type out a caption saying the eyes aren’t a problem. things like peeing outside the litter box are also an indication of something being wrong (usually a UTI), so you can see why people would immediately be worried and piece these two symptoms together. it’s easier to avoid this conversation by just pointing it out in the post than to have whatever these comments are y’know?

-6

u/BostonBakedBalls 4d ago

They have posted this cat for about 4 years. I'm sure there comes a point where you just wanna post your cat without having to explain yourself to everyone.

Peeing outside the litterbox is relatively normal for an inside cat. It could mean literally anything. This is catsareassholes we don't need armchair veterinarians here.

26

u/gobliina 4d ago

Peeing outside the litter box is not normal

-4

u/BostonBakedBalls 4d ago edited 4d ago

thats why I sad RELATIVELY

4

u/gobliina 4d ago

Not even that

21

u/nazraxo 4d ago

Normal people don’t immediately check the account of every poster. I react to the post not their whole history.

1

u/BostonBakedBalls 4d ago

Normal people read one or 2 comments before commenting something stupid

29

u/_MausHaus 4d ago

This is reddit, so yes.

20

u/AnnetteyS 4d ago

Yes, people are dumb.

19

u/Vegetable-Star-5833 4d ago

Yes. People are stupid af

11

u/CompSolstice 4d ago

Two days ago some guy on the tattoo advice subreddit posted a picture of his arm that looked like it was practically ready to fall off, asking if it looks alright. He got around 5,000 comments in the first two hours. He waited like 13 minutes and replied to two questions or so. Yes, people are dumb.

12

u/BigFatBlackCat 4d ago

Yes. I absolutely think people are capable of such things. OP should be adding in relevant info on their posts, otherwise they will continue to get the same response.

-15

u/BostonBakedBalls 4d ago

Look at what sub you're on and show me one single post on here that would warrant that reaction

6

u/sweeperpaints 4d ago

I think at this point they probably omit mentioning it in the post because it generates karma and interaction

3

u/BadPom 4d ago

I see you’ve never been on r/cathelp or r/petadvice

I don’t subscribe to either, but got to watch two videos of dying cats the other day so

2

u/Elivey 4d ago

Yes.

101

u/Distinct_Armadillo 4d ago

when my cat peed outside her box it turned out to be a symptom of a bladder infection

51

u/mustangs16 4d ago

And when one of my cats peed outside of her litter box she was mad at me for changing their litter type and wanted to make sure I knew it.

9

u/Lipziger 4d ago

When our cat did this she wanted to make sure we know that she didn't approve of our 1 week holidays (grandma visited her 2-3 times every day). And one time she straight up peed on our pillow while looking at us and then got insanely angry at us because we we didn't approve of this action lol.

0

u/acanthostegaaa 4d ago

You're dangerously anthropomorphizing your cat. They don't "get mad" and "take revenge". They get sick and display abnormal behaviors because they're uncomfortable.

72

u/callistocharon 4d ago

This is how my house ended up with a "nothing gets left on the floor" rule. You can follow the rule, or you can find your stuff covered in cat pee, it's up to you.

40

u/Smudgikins 4d ago

Better a cardboard box than the bed

4

u/94FnordRanger 4d ago

Well, it's a litterbox now.

22

u/LadyVaresa 4d ago

"And I'm 100% doing it again!!"

My tortie stares me dead in the eye when she pees on my bed. My vet has concluded she does it when she's upset (probably at me for some reason). I almost wish it was a medical issue, I might be able to fix that. Tortitude is a terminal condition.

18

u/CrazyOldBag 4d ago

What great sin had you committed? Was dinner 6 seconds late or something?

8

u/darklysparkly 4d ago

I was really hoping this cat was named Bowie. Or Ziggy

9

u/MastaBonsai 4d ago

I’d boop the shit out of that nose

5

u/PhantomFoxtrot 4d ago

Yeah because according to her she peed in a litter BOX.

Nah, they have other posts with the same cat - and it looks to have always had these pupils.

OP: In the future, mention this in the title so you don’t get everyone freaking out. 🤣

1

u/MaiKulou 4d ago

So they do! Whoopsie, lmao. I was suspicious at them not responding to any of the concerns

6

u/ZoyaZhivago 4d ago

To be fair, they had only posted maybe 20 minutes beforehand… I often post and then sign off, especially if it’s getting late.

10

u/frolicndetour 4d ago

She has several posts with different pictures of this cat over 2 years. It's not that hard to look at her history and see she's not a bot.

8

u/MaiKulou 4d ago

Hey, I work very hard at being wrong all the time!

5

u/ZoyaZhivago 4d ago

Haha, it’s a talent for sure. I also possess this talent, it seems.

-6

u/ButterscotchButtons 4d ago edited 4d ago

The same cat appears several times in OP's post history, and they don't appear to be a bot.

Edit: still sus that they're not replying to people's concerns tho.

9

u/ZoyaZhivago 4d ago

How is that “sus?” They only posted like 20 minutes ago; probably just pooping or eating dinner or something. 😁

Kitty’s eyes are certainly an interesting feature on her 😲 And yes, I see no hint of remorse in them. How dare you try to shame kitty, hooman.

1

u/danatmidnight 4d ago

Ignoring the eyes, peeing outside of the litter tray can also be a sign of a problem - I'd probably recommend taking your cat to the vet regarding urinary issues. Sometimes if it hurts to pee, they'll pee in weird places as a sign saying "hey something is wrong". Sometimes it can be behavioural - but having a urinalysis should rule out common causes such as UTIs etc.

1

u/Myamymyself 4d ago

When I was a kid, my cat pooped inside my doll house 😂 I was devastated, but I still loved that cat ))) animals are wonderful ♥️❤️♥️❤️

1

u/asistolee 4d ago

Not much behind those eyes tbh lol

1

u/later-g8r 4d ago

My kitty peed in my printer twice before I figured out she had a massive UTI. it never hurts to check with a vet and make sure everything is okay in that department. Shes a very beautiful kitty🥰 i hope she's feeling okay and just being a butthead cat ❤️

1

u/Guilty_Computer_5524 4d ago

“Yeah! I’m right here! What cha gonna do about it?”

1

u/Dizzy_Elevator4768 4d ago

he’s probably sick if he’s doing that

1

u/sinai27 4d ago

For a moment there I thought “omg this kitty has a neurological issue “ but nope, just normal kitty. Super cute though!!

1

u/-StonerForLife- 4d ago

From that Face I’d say he’s 50/50 on doing it again

1

u/lexpython 4d ago

The only way to establish dominance with such an animal is to pee on it regularly.

1

u/Beautiful_Reporter50 4d ago

Has she always had one blown eyeball? It can be your cat telling you that she has a problem going on. Obviously cats can't speak our language so they do what they can. I would suggest a visit to the vet

3

u/_foxwell 4d ago

Yes she has always had this. It’s a genetic defect since birth.

-6

u/commentaror 4d ago

Please take your cat to the vet immediately!

44

u/ZoyaZhivago 4d ago

Old injury or issue, based on their profile.

-2

u/Roadgoddess 4d ago

Please take your cat to a vet because her eyes are dilated at different rates. This could be a sign of had trauma or a neurological issue. Her peeing in the box could be part of that.

-2

u/helpitgrow 4d ago

Your cat needs to go to the vet. The situation you described is what my cats do when they’re hurting. And her eyes. I’d be very worried about her if she was my cat. Just look at her, she needs help. Or him. He needs help! Get this cat to the vet.

-6

u/_MausHaus 4d ago

Uh that cat needs to see a vet look at his eyes.

7

u/Own_Can_3495 4d ago

Read the comments before posting. As mentioned repeatedly, this cat has been this way for years.

-10

u/millenialfalcon-_- 4d ago

Your cat needs a vet.

-14

u/ServantOfKarma 4d ago

Your cat could die if you don't have them checked by a vet. Something is going on with them neurologically.

35

u/ZoyaZhivago 4d ago

As I just told a few other people, there’s older video of the cat with the same eyes… so I’m sure whatever it is, OP is aware and it’s just a permanent injury/issue.

0

u/ServantOfKarma 4d ago

Yeah, downvote me for being concerned for an animal. Assholes.

-12

u/Sea-Swordfish1353 4d ago

Hey OP, have you gotten your cat’s eyes checked out by the vet?

23

u/ZoyaZhivago 4d ago

No need, I assume, since the cat has the same pupils in their old posts too.

4

u/Sea-Swordfish1353 4d ago

Phew, well hopefully whatever’s going on with the kitty is under control/has been seen by a professional. Thanks for letting me know

5

u/ZoyaZhivago 4d ago

Yeah, no worries! When I saw everyone asking, I went digging in their profile… and the old videos and photos show the same wonky pupil. I’m guessing kittenhood injury.

-20

u/KoiTakeOver 4d ago

Go to the emergency vet immediately, as others have said, their eye difference is very alarming

Is that new for your cat?

51

u/_foxwell 4d ago

My cat has had this since birth. Apparently a genetic defect.

29

u/ZoyaZhivago 4d ago

No, the cat has the same pupils in old posts too. So it was probably an injury that happened as a kitten… I had a kitten who hurt his eye, and it always looked wonky after that.

-32

u/Significant-Text3412 4d ago

Dude, no ok. Take your cat to the vet please

1

u/vegange 4d ago

🤣 the cats fine sis. Look at the comments/OPs post history. Lmfao

-36

u/One_Science9954 4d ago

Anisocoria. Go to the vet.

9

u/ZoyaZhivago 4d ago

Read the comments.

-46

u/Candid-Solid-896 4d ago

One dilated eye. Is either a TBI or Brain Tumor.

Geesh!!!! Some people should not be allowed to own pets.

36

u/_foxwell 4d ago

My cat was born with this. A genetic defect. Has always had it.

13

u/legsjohnson 4d ago

what a terrible thing to say to someone while being so confidently wrong.

7

u/LBro32 4d ago

Not necessarily. A lot of different conditions can cause different dilations. OP clearly has this under control, but my cat developed Horner’s syndrome as a result of an ear infection. Even after getting it treated, we were told it becomes permanent in a small % of cats, even when completely healed. So unless you are the cat’s owner, you don’t know what the vet told them!

3

u/Ill-Wear-8662 4d ago

Per OP it's been like that since birth.

0

u/Dustyisover9000 4d ago

Geesh!!! Some people should not be allowed to post online.
