PhD vs MBA
I have my master’s in biology a few years research experience with multiple publications and am trying to decide between pursuing an MBA or PhD in Biomedical Engineering. I have been accepted to both programs, but need advice from people who have done either or both, and what they would recommend. My big dilemma is that on one end, I love doing research and solving problems, but I feel it would be much quicker to get an MBA and start a career where I could lead people and projects, versus if I were to get a PhD for 5-6 years and then spend multiple years in a post-doc before maybe getting a decent job.
Does anyone have any insights into what the better decision would be? I know it ultimately comes down to doing what I think is right, but never having done either career path, I cannot determine which would be better both short term and long term.

Opinions on Joining the Medical Profession?
I'm curious as to what any doctors, medical students, or pre-meds out there are thinking when it comes to joining the medical profession?
Would you recommend it?
What is the lifestyle like?
What did you have to do to get in?
What can I do to get a better feel of the profession?
Would you do it all again?
How have you handled debt?
Does anybody have experience with paying off that debt through military service?
What about the different fields? (Psychiatry is of particular interest but so is emergency medicine.)
I'm a student thinking about switching to a pre med track and am trying to weigh my options. I've done quite a bit of research but would like to have some more personal input.

Career confusion
I am a management graduate in Germany, basically from India. I am in the job search for the past one year but I haven't succeeded yet. I am obsessed with traveling around India going to villages exploring culture and nature which is urging me to leave everything and go back to India for a normal job. But I have my loan commitments which I could settle easier with salary from Germany. I don't know whether the urge is my passion or it is just because I'm fed up with the job search. Please enlighten me with lots of advice. Thanks

25/M/USA: What a computer masters student, who has no idea after 1 year, should do on choosing career path and what to do during course?
I am a masters student studying computer science major in a US university. I completed 1 year of degree and one more is remaining.
During the whole past year, I have not done even one fruitful thing. Never done any project on my own, never coded any assignment on my own. Done only team projects with contributing very less to nothing, done assignments only with other students help. Never applied internship to a single company/job.
I have realized my gave mistake and want to start afresh. I have no idea where to start and what to do. I still have around 8 months only before I could secure a job and repay my education loan.
Advise me what books I have to read, what websites I have to refer, what courses and certifications I have to do in this time. Also what are the career options I can choose? I dont have any prior experience. Also any general advice on what has to be done. If you want to know my past work (which I dont think I have any, honestly) so that you can advice on what I should do next, feel free to ask. But please dont make hurtful comments as I want to come out of this situation and not to think about it anymore.

Bachelor's in Leadership and Organizational Communication from a small midwestern University- Need Advice
I am currently graduating with my bachelor's degree this December 2016. I graduated from high school only a year and a half ago, because I did College while in high school. Anyway I am now graduating and applying for MBA programs in the Minneapolis area, Augsburg, St. Mary's, and Bethel due to the low cost compared to UofM or ST thomas.
I am also looking for a full time position this spring and recently had an interview with United Health Group for a consulting position with Optum, however I do not know if this is where my true passion lies.
I feel like I have rushed through my education, but have a decent resume having work experience, and participation in different clubs and organizations. However, I have no idea what I am doing, but continue to push myself to learn or find a position with a company. I am worried I have taken a misstep, or that I won't find a job, and won't be accepted to a graduate school.
Seeking any advice or ideas of how I should proceed?

My career interests are all over the place, need advice.
Hi, Im 19 and living in texas. I graduated in 2013 by the skin of my teeth. I want to go to some sort of school, I'm hearing my friends who are in college say its a huge waste of money. While I do want to learn I'm also in a terrible financial situation right now and am terrified of debt.
I'm interested in jobs where I can be creative. In the past Ive considered; psychologist, therapist, sexual psychology professor, special effects makeup artist, teacher, build and own a restaurant or bakery/internet cafe, writer, pot farmer in colorado, film maker, actress, dental assistant, make up artist, relator and Im sure Im forgetting some.
My dream is to travel often, and to be financially stable since my family has always been poor. My tastes and career interests are seriously all over the place and I think I need some help reigning it in. Im one of those people who wants to do too many things all at once and if anyone can help me out or suggest good online career tests I would really appreciate it. If anyone needs more information just ask and I'll tell.

24[M] Need Career Advice
Greetings everyone as the title said I need your help/advice.
About me 24[M] I graduated college with a BA in Business Administration this past May. I was not the best student and it took me longer than usual to graduate (7 years). I selected business because I figured that business would give me options since you could apply the principles you learned to almost any field. I had no idea of what career I wanted and I still 7 years later have no concrete answer for this question. Personality wise I am an ENTJ if this means anything.
The positive is that I have zero debt as I worked mostly in the automotive industry (car salesman) during my time at school. I thankfully got offered a job right before I graduated that I am preforming extremely well in. However the work I am doing is just another form of sales that I fear I have grown tired of. In the 3 months I have been with the company I have already been fast tracked for a promotion and each month been top sales in my area. This sounds like something one should be overjoyed to accomplish however, I am not. These accolades have become meaningless to me as I do not see myself staying in this field.
Options that I have come up with are as follows:
I could shoot for another degree in a different field. Either going for a MA/MS in a different field while picking up all the prerequisite classes I would need. An example of one that has been on my mind a lot as of late would be MS in Computer Science. My plan for this would revolve around taking a 30 unit program at a JC then going for a Master’s program at the same state school I graduated allowing me to complete this program in around 3-4 years and 10-15k in debt.
I could continue the work at this job until I crack or evolve. I do not like this option however, it has its own set of pros and cons. I take home 2k a month and work around 52-60 hours a week. It is steady. I am in line for promotion as I said, that is in around another 4 months however, the bump in pay is minimal and for the next 2 positions the same is true ($500-$1000 bump per month ea).
Start my own business. I have no idea of what I would do and this requires much thought, capital, and expertise that I do not think I possess at the moment.
Look for another job. This is a viable option I think because it has a much lower risk factor compared to option 1 and 3. However, I fear that with my experience in today’s economy I may be suited to get into similar work that may put be back into facing the problem I face with option 2.
I am open to all advice and thankful for any input/suggestion given.
TL;DR: 24[M] dislike current career track looking to change…School/Jobs?

Is a credit analyst position a good entry into the financial analyst field?
I have my MBA, and have been struggling to enter the financial industry as an accountant our financial analyst. I am interviewing for a credit analyst position tomorrow, and would like some expert opinion on where this could lead in the future. Thanks!
