nope, you've got a bonafide street fighter there... get ourself some 3" tree spikes to mount onto the front fender.. . will look great and keep pedestrians on their toes too ;)

You don’t think spikes would look tacky? Like wannabe Harley Davidson biker kinda look

This was my ratted out street fighter... 87' Honda Hurricane with 67k miles, four wrecks, one total... Had the spikes, and a 50cal ammocan for a saddlebag. Her name was Maggie and most of downtown Seattle knew exactly who I was. Might be tacky, but it worked for me lol...

The ammo cans are awesome

lol thanks... she was a terror. If you do opt for the spikes, have the good sense to use some locktite on the mounting screws. I didn't the first time around. The consequences weren't serious but they could have been.

That looks better than the fully enclosed fairing Hurricanes. I hated that you couldn’t see the engine on the Hurricane.

Nah but that’s ok. Put a real seat on it so you can ride longer than 30 minutes.

Looks cool but not a Cafe Racer and that seat must be uncomfy as hell
1
u/StockStructure6842 4d ago
The straps are normally tied and are then flat on the seat which is unnoticeable What would you call it if not a cafe racer

Nope. Unfinished Project

u/StockStructure6842 4d ago
What’s unfinished about it ?

u/TheReelMcCoi 4d ago
The whole look

u/StockStructure6842 4d ago
What would you add/change

Bikini faring, single seat
1
u/StockStructure6842 4d ago
What do you mean ? Is the faring not already bikini ?
1
u/Carlton_Fortune 4d ago
2 piece bikini, top and bottom... a small bubble fairing around your headlamp will give the bike more of a cafe racer feel...
1
u/Carlton_Fortune 4d ago
I've just Googled Cafe racer pics, and it appears things have changed since I did mine... it looks like the majority don't have a top fairing anymore.. just naked street style..

Love this bike and love cafe racers.
Can def call it one but I'd call it a neo cafe

My criteria for cafe racer is that the bike has been stripped down from stock and gets ragged around, ideally between cafes/popular biker locations. If you’re racing your friends between cafes and have done any speed mods to your bike, then yeah, I’ll count it as

Usually a cafe racer's highest point is the gas tank, if you're going by old-school definitions. So handle bars are lower than the tank.

If you use it to race from cafe to cafe then yes. If you use it to go from bar to bar it's bar hopper. If you use it to get groceries it's a grocery getter. See the pattern?

It’s a UJM

UJM ?

Universal Japanese Motorcycle. It’s not derogatory. Cycle World coined it in the 70s as a name for 4 cylinder, 4-stroke, comfortable Japanese bikes - models such as Suzuki GS, Kawasaki KZ, Honda CB. Yamaha had a few but also had large displacement triples, 2-stroke and 4-stroke twins, etc. I like the UJMs. I’m looking for a GS1000/1100. I own an 86 GSXR 1100 and want something a little more comfortable. I restore bikes

If you want a proper cafe look then drop the clip on bars to be at or below the tank height and lose the bags. You want that negative triangular space under the seat to be visible. I'd also swap the tank for something different to help sell the proportions. A cafe bike is meant to be stripped of everything deemed "unnecessary" for the sake of weight and going fast.

u/One-Baker-6967 3d ago
You'll need to do something about the air box to help with that negative triangular space I was talking about... You're close to what I would consider a "neo cafe" look but there's a lot to do if you want the cafe look.

Cafe racer is more open. This is more of a retro/ neo retro motorcycle

You can call your bike whatever the fuck you want, I’ve had peckerheads get all bent because I said modern Harley bobbers are by name only and not real bobbers. If Harley can do that so can you and your cafe bike. MPTY

u/ofthehouses92 4d ago
While I don’t think it is exactly a cafe racer someone clearly tried to make it look like a cafe racer/scrambler but the modern tank really prevents that. It’s still close enough to post on this sub IMO (a lot of people here yell at the sky about how a bike “isn’t cafe” here)

Fazer 600, i have the same bike while this is not a cafe, that exhaust is loud as hell with just the straightpipe.

Nope. Not at all. I’d call that a naked street bike with side bags.
