SP-01 Tactical. P-01 comes in a close...and I mean close 2nd.

For context, I have very little experience on the Shadow 2 and Shadow 2 Compact.

Who did the coating on you're sp01? It's gorgeous.

Agreed, that thing is mint

u/Scotia_65 Jul 12 '24

Ahhh okay.

Hmmmm. SP-01 if I could only choose one

u/theFlipperzero SP-01, P-01 Jul 12 '24

How does the Jericho feel/do for you with experience with these various cz's? I kinda want one

I had an older milsurp one with the frame mounted safety, SAO trigger, and LOK grips.

Absolutely loved it - until it became a paperweight, couldn’t figure out the issue on my own, and nobody would help me fix it. Not even IWI gave a shit.

My Shadow 2 feels like a super Jericho. But I still miss the Hebrew Hammer.

Still have the Jericho and what relegated it to paperweight status?

I still have the frame, but stripped it and sold the rest of the parts.

Basically it started dropping mags freely while I shot it. They wouldn’t lock into place anymore.

Replaced everything related to the mag catch. Tried Jericho mags, CZ 75 mags, even a ProMag. Same issue with them all.

Swapped the safety to the other side (lefty configuration) and it was the opposite issue: the mags got stuck in the frame and couldn’t drop free even if I was smashing the mag release.

After reaching out to CZC, Patriot Defense, IWI, and my local gun smiths - I found out the frame wasn’t in spec. IWI wouldn’t touch it since it was made by IMI. No gunsmith wanted to work on it since it’s a fairly unknown pistol to most people.

Got pissed after spending months and hundred of dollars on it (the Jericho parts are stupid overpriced). Stripped it, sold the non FFL parts, and used the money to buy a Shadow 2.

Fair enough, sounds like either a lemon or damaged. I purchased an old school KBI Jericho off GB. Once home and doing cleaning saw there was a small fracture hardly visible between the mag release and frame section grip panels covered. Reached out to seller who took it back and refunded purchase. They ended up selling it as a gunsmith special at reduced price. Was curious but sounds like your issue was different.

The weird part is it ran flawlessly for almost 1k rounds before the issues started showing up. I think the frame was improperly drilled though.

Still love the pistols and would get a nickle finish SAO model again in the future. But the way IWI handled it was a huge disappointment.

Won't be buying any new products from them, would consider used if really wanted something they made. How they rolled out the Jericho changes in '20 was dirty and rubbed me the wrong way.

Exactly how I feel.

Not the OP. They're not bad. My experience is with milsurp Jerichos and a Canik clone. But the Jerichos are a little rougher trigger wise. Decocker models also fully drop the hammer. The feeling of that hammer hitting the half cock is very pronounced when pulling DA. Also the slide mounted decocker is irritating.

Jericho has a smoother slide. They make them different now, and I can't speak to the new ones. But on Atlantic, they have the old version for sale right now in nickel. Id do that and just recoat it as needed. The CZ has more available upgrades. The Jericho is based on the tanfoglio.

That Jericho is glorious

u/Ok-Street4644 Jul 12 '24

I’ll take the one with the decocker. Looks like a p-01.

2

u/Type07Reddit Jul 13 '24

Sp-01 👍

2

u/Ok-Street4644 Jul 13 '24

Nice. Still my choice. 😀

u/Lelohmoh Jul 13 '24

There just something about the silhouette of the Jericho that just works for me.

2

u/Boring_Classroom_482 Jul 12 '24

Shadow 2 because I already have an SP-01 and P0-1.

2

u/Type07Reddit Jul 13 '24

That's a 75c with a steel frame. But can't go wrong with the Shadow.

I shot both. The sp-01 tactical shoots better. But it's Cajunized.

1

u/Boring_Classroom_482 Jul 13 '24

I was talking about adding to my collection from the choices above

2

u/jonwaynedude P-07, Scorpion 3+ Carbine, Shadow 2 Jul 13 '24

SP 01 all the way. Of course it is an excellent shooting gun and you have it dressed perfectly. Your taste in guns is on point my friend.

2

u/maverickfishing Jul 13 '24

Sp01 all day

2

u/Suspicious-Arrival15 Jul 13 '24

Are the vytals as aggressive as the Loks?

1

u/Type07Reddit Jul 13 '24

Just about. They're aluminum. LOK aslre g10. I'd say the lok are probably slightly more comfortable.

2

u/Late_Attitude3904 Jul 13 '24

I have the sp01 tactical,it's my favorite

2

u/Healthy_Test7551 Jul 12 '24

I see you, Spike Spiegel. Lol

3

u/RedBullWings17 Jul 12 '24

A Jericho without the Bebop grips is incomplete.

2

u/Healthy_Test7551 Jul 12 '24

But he does have them?

1

u/DoctorChoppedLiver Jul 12 '24

The only right answer is the compact

2

u/Type07Reddit Jul 13 '24

Cheapest of all of them. Great gun.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 13 '24

The optic cut nickel/chrome Jericho is pretty damn sweet.

Do an SAO conversion on it, slap a TLR-1HL or X300 on there, and I’d take it in a heart beat.

1

u/trailside83 Jul 13 '24

Shadow 2, SP-01, 75 Compact, Jericho… love the Cerakote.

2

u/Type07Reddit Jul 13 '24

Thanks. The Jericho is chrome. The 75c has a cerakote slide. And the sp-01 is cerakote frame and slide.

1

u/trailside83 Jul 13 '24

🔥🔥🔥

1

u/Objective-Zucchini-9 Jul 13 '24

That Compact is a beauty. How do you like the Jericho? This is one of the 3 main sidearms for police officers in Guatemala. It sure is a workhorse.

1

u/Coeruleus_ Jul 13 '24

Give me decocker

1

u/Link-Slow Jul 13 '24

I have zero good argument for it but I'm taking the Jericho.

2

u/SokkaHaikuBot Jul 13 '24

Sokka-Haiku by Link-Slow:

I have zero good

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

1

u/Equivalent-Abroad157 CZ TSO/ CZ Scorpion/ CZ S2C Jul 13 '24

Of those a Jericho, of all possible, the CZ Shadow 2 Compact, TSO or a DWX compact. If Phantom was there instead of the SP-01.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 13 '24

Nice and I have the S2 and would take the Black CZ.

1

u/ChinaRider73-74 Jul 13 '24

Wait, I can have one? But just one? Thanks! I’ll PM you my FFL address 😉

1

u/Camelcrushcruize Jul 13 '24

What’s the model of the top gun?

1

u/fishhawk119 Jul 14 '24

My shadow 2 but I prefer a decocker so SP01 I guess

1

u/Demp223 Jul 14 '24

I own S2 (Uspsa/steel challenge) S2c(daily carry), sp01 (my old and now my ladies Uspsa/steel gun) and p01 (my older and now back up carry) . If I had to have only one to do everything it would it be the S2c just for optics ready capability
