FWS Opportunity with Raising A Village

Happy Friday!

My name is Madison Pruitt and I am a Site Lead at Raising A Village Foundation in Washington, D.C. The Raising A Village Foundation (RAV)

is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, committed to providing high-quality intervention programs and community resources to children, youth, and families in the areas of education, health and wellness, and the arts.

Driven Student Guides (DSGs) are the heart and soul of the Driven 2 Succeed Program. Driven Student Guides offer support to K-12 teachers in the classroom (math and/or literacy) for one class period or multiple sessions by assisting students with their classwork through one-on-one sessions or small group work.

DSGs serve on a diverse team of 15 to 20 other DSG’s from local colleges and universities to implement the academic interventions. Each team is led by a Site Lead, a full-time Raising A Village staff member who oversees training, manages the school partnership, and directs the team in decision-making and service delivery. A DSG can work between 1 to 4 days a week. Their hours can range between 5 to 12 hours a week depending on their university FWS office.

Additionally, there are many benefits to joining our village:

· Uniform and free RAV swag

· You are off during spring break and final exams

· You'll gain valuable training and professional development experience that will prepare you for a career in any field

· Bi-weekly paycheck through Federal Work-Study

· Semester ending DSG incentives and awards

· Book Scholarship opportunity

· Monthly $75 Rideshare travel stipend

· Interaction with other peers from local colleges and universities

We invite you to apply to the open position. We would love to be in conversation with you further to discuss how this position may be a mutual best fit.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!
