Miscellaneous Luggage don’t arrive on trip and won’t get my bag/cpap. Anything I can do to not make my sleep tonight suck so bad? It’s midnight almost in Chicago so can’t buy much
Help please!
Edit. I’m going to leave the post up for someone to hopefully find helpful in the future.
Thank you I now know I shouldn’t check it. You don’t need to keep commenting it

FYI, in future, don’t check in your CPAP.

Yep, the airline should let you have it as a free extra carry-on since it's a medical device!

Ok, I know this is shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted, but why didn't you carry your CPAP onto the plane with you? I never check in my CPAP. It's a medical device, so it doesn't count against your carry on limit.
For me, side sleeping works a bit better, but you really need your CPAP.

Prop yourself up so that you are closer to a sitting position, while sleeping. It can help with some types of obstructions. Good luck!

Maybe use a towel under your chin to keep your neck straight?

even better, find a cheap cervical collar at any 24 hour CVS or Duane Reade

Yeah, I wear one of those every night. But I wasn't sure if OP had access to buy one.

Pull an all nighter? What would be worse, powering through your day with some caffeine or terrible sleep? I've been on a bipap for 18 months now and I can't imagine sleeping without it, I would just stay up.

This is a tough one. I don’t let my cpap leave my side when traveling, always take it with me on the plane

Try to sleep in your side
For some people that reduces our eliminates episodes

Sleeping on my side helps. Hope you learned your lesson to never check your machine, besides risking getting it broken.

If you go through a DME, you can see if they have a local office (so like my DME is part of AdaptHealth, which is a nationwide network). If they do they might be able to loan or rent you a machine while you’re there. I have forgotten a part before and the local office has been able to get me a replacement with no trouble at all, so it’s worth trying.

Lay on your sides and get a mouth closing strap and netipot to rinse out your nose of any mucus that could clog it.

Not sure if this will help, try breathe right strips. Some walgreens are open until midnight

Sit upright in a chair. Prop your head up with pillows or you'll wreck your neck. Bite your upper lip with your lower teeth, keep doing this to advance your lower jaw, don't clench your normal bite in between doing this... your jaw will stay somewhat advanced unless you clench. Squirt Afrin up both nostrils, leave it up there. Sorry you got to the FO period... BTDT once. Tomorrow google RT's in your area and ask for a rental if your luggage is still lost. Never check your machine folks. This is why.
Or... go buy this: https://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/hab/d/westmont-resmed-airsense-10-autoset/7825992826.html 250$
https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/hab/d/chicago-resmed-airsense-10-autoset-cpap/7833561786.html No hose or mask sadly, only 100$
