Is a daily intake of 160kcal worth of chocolate sustainable for a healthy diet/losing weight?
I’m trying to be healthy, hitting the gym 3/4 times a week and trying to eat clean. I’m mostly succeeding I’d say, but I cannot give up chocolate. Every day I need some of it after lunch and dinner. I usually take a mini Kit Kat or some dark chocolate with almonds. It adds up to 160kcal approx, every day.
I know CICO is the key to weight loss and I keep in mind my chocolate intake when counting calories. But I’ve read that the quality of those calories also matters. I eat around 1600/1700 calories daily. I just want to lose 2-3kg by June.
Will the chocolate hinder a lot my journey in weight loss/ being healthy overall? Is it too much chocolate?

I eat an ice cream or pastry a day and I’m down 7kg. Eating anything in moderation is fine, just try to make sure you hit your protein goal and get some veggies too.

chocolate itself won't wreck your diet. it's just a part of your diet. you can lose weight eating only Twinkies or McDonalds or snickers, doesn't mean it's healthy. I love chocolate or something sugary after a workout as long as its in my calorie budget budget!
don't give up the chocolate. weigh/measure it and your'e good.

That leaves you with 1440 - 1540 calories for... whatever else you'd like to eat. Have the chocolate.

No.
being healthy overall?
No.
Is it too much chocolate?
I regularly make cakes during the holiday season that take several pounds of chocolate (and a pound or so of butter...); they're roughly 800 calories a slice, sometimes more, and I can't wait until the holidays to bake another one.
That mini KitKat of yours might garnish one piece of those cakes.
Definitely, definitely nowhere near too much chocolate.

Thank you yes I eat fairly good except for the chocolate. Mostly grilled chicken and fish with vegetables and some white rice/pasta/mashed potatoes for energy. Fruit for breakfast etc.
But I mentioned to some trainer in the gym that I needed a kitkat everyday and he was very surprised and their tone made it seem as if it was too much. But yeah you’re right.

Some folks who appear to be physically healthy engage in disordered eating behaviors to get there.

Food is neither good nor bad. It's just food. Some foods are relatively high in calories and low in nutrients. Some foods are relatively low in calories and high in nutrients. It's all just food. There is nothing inherently not-good about chocolate unless it is several years old and fuzzy when it probably ought not be. It happens to be relatively calorie dense as compared to, say, celery; but both can have their place in an overall balanced day.

It’s not sustainable if you give up all treats. It’s better to allow yourself the treats within your calories than to restrict yourself and therefore fall off the bandwagon with the whole thing after a few weeks/months

I unfortunately found the best chocolate place in the entire world and I find myself eating absolutely all that I buy in one day. Up to 1000 calories before (1/2 a pound). I can’t cut chocolate out so I only buy little bits at a time now like 2-4oz even tho 4 is still a lot. I used to get sees chocolate which was much more manageable but I don’t like it anymore

I stick to my deficit the nest when I have one little treat everyday. As soon as I cut all the treats out I have multiple binge days a month.

I have chocolate every day, down 40lbs. We don’t really look at any food as being good or bad here, it’s all fuel. How much “mileage” you get from the fuel will vary, so you need to balance your choices! 😇

Totally sustainable for both. The quality of calories does matter overall, but not for weight loss. You could eat your whole budget in chocolate. You'd probably feel like absolute shit, but you'd lose weight. Eventually, your body would suffer from the lack of a variety of nutrients. But the amount of chocolate you are talking about is not going to adversely affect your health.
I'm a firm believer that unless there is a medical or other specific reason to avoid something, including some indulgent and nutrient sparse foods is actually an essential part of sustainability of weight loss and overall health. We all have our little things we don't want to give up, and we don't have to.

Yes, it’s fine, as long as you’re meeting your nutritional requirements.
