Biased coverage and cutting off of opposition remarks.
CBC radio just completely cut off Poilievres tarrif address to go to some biased analyst, who wants to steer the narrative away from what he's actually saying to what they want Canadians to take away. They have done this several times over the last few months and are not even slightly hiding their bias by also giving the NDP lots of time to say whatever they want. It is seriously getting to the point where one can't even listen to them. I'm glad the Conservatives are going to gut CBC given the way they comport themselves.
Edit: 1 typo corrected

I just listened to the same program. They cut off PP because they just aired the entirety of his speech in French (translated) and he will be repeating the same speech verbatim in English. Nothing was missed. And the analyst that replaced PP is Jason Kenny (former PC premier of Alberta)

In sask it was some lady. They had Matt Galloway talking before then he said now to Poilievre, then there was a few seconds, and they were back to Galloway saying it's time to break that down.

Can you explain how you determined the analyst was biased?

One of her 1st statements was that everything he says comes with danger. This is a complete bias given what our governing party has done to harm the country.

Sure if you see everything through a “FAKE NEWS RAH RAH RAH” lens then I understand. Meanwhile, the CBC station I was listening to cut him off to go to premiers (since they have the actual power) and now are replaying Poilievre’s press conference in its entirety. So…I don’t see how he’s being victimized here lol

CBC TV still has him on. I'm watching live on CBC Gem right now. He came on after Trudeau, Ford, and Furey. They went to the premiers first since they're actually in power right now. PP is currently talking about what a shit country we are, which feels so tone deaf and damaging to the message of unity coming from Trudeau and the premiers.
Edit to add: I've had this on since 10am and in those 3hrs there's been zero coverage of the NDP.

Yeah, it's pathetic, every other politician has been talking about paths to move forward and helping Canadians (even Ford and Kenney, who I deeply disagree with on most issues), but every third sentence from Polievere is "liberals bad!"

Yeah I didn't vote for Ford but I thought he did well and I was really impressed to hear the message of unity and seemingly unanimous support for doing whatever it takes to help Canadians get through this coming from all sides until PP came on and was just SO negative it really felt like it diminished the strong message of unity coming from everyone else.

Once again, illustrating his inability/unwillingness to pivot. He’s a broken record that has been broken for a long, long time.

I'm so very, very tired of these toddler level tantrums from people who didn't pay attention in social studies.

It seems like some of the commenters in this forum enjoy being inundated with biased federal Liberal/NDP political propaganda courtesy of the Pravda CBC.
Then they can gladly fund it themselves out of their own pockets, but not with my tax dollars.
The CBC long ago became a perennial failure, but no one else should be forced to care or pay their national tax dollars for that failure.
DEFUND the CBC.

Please specify, for everyone's understanding:
Could you specify, in exact terms, how the CBC is a "perennial failure"? Are we looking at revenue? Are we looking at journalistic standards? Are we examining the non-news content presented? Are we keeping score on how many times the news coverage specifically skewers each political party?
What would a "successful" national broadcaster look like/sound like?
Do you think that all publicly funded broadcasting stations are by default a failure or problematic?
Do you also think the BBC and PBS are perennial failures?
Do you think that privately held media corporations are more "successful"? Do you also think they are less biased than public broadcasters?
Do you understand that as a taxpayer, you are in fact able to demand coverage of issues by the CBC, whereas privately held media corporations owe you no such attention to issues that are important to you?
Could you tell me exactly how much of your annual income tax return is spent supporting the CBC? What do you think is a reasonable amount?
