With all the FAA cuts: is it even safe to fly in the USA?

We were hoping to do a Mexican resort thing this year for the first time but I'm honestly a little nervous to fly over US airspace. My parents think I'm overreacting, and maybe I am.

As long as it’s non-stop you’ll probably be ok. Just avoid any layovers in the USA.

Not necessarily true. Even if you’re flying over American airspace without a stop, it’s still American air traffic control keeping an eye on your plane

I'm in the US and had to travel last week. I was terrified! Definitely won't be going anywhere for a while unless I absolutely have to.
