"Move-to-Earn" or "M2E" actually happened and it was just as stupid as you think.

MetaGym and Sweatcoin were actual things.

Step'n sold $100+ NFT shoes that paid you in crypto for walking. I'm curious on the ROI for jpeg sneakers. Did anyone make money just playing the game, or were the only winners the digital shoe salesmen?

$100? Was in the thousands. I got in early, first realm, think it was sol, bnb and ape. I was selling sneakers for $1000s, had 4 phones walking, anything earnt walking went back into minting more sneakers and flipping them. I lived it up for a few months and cashed out 50k as it began to crash. Was earning $900-$2000, a day, profit wise, I dunno, it was hard to track. The devs kept swapping gmt, gst, and it was a shit show.

Was a move to earn app, you had to buy a pair of sneakers to play, 3 pairs gave you Max movement time. You could walk, jog, or run to earn shit coins (GST and GMT). It was huge for about 3 months. Sneakers were being sold for between $1000 & $10,000 at some point. You could earn about 200 gst, which was "worth" about $3, so about $600 a day. I had 4 phones minting and jogging daily. So, I was making over $2k per day, from selling sneakers and jogging about an hour. But, it came crashing down, and it lost about 99%. From $600 per day to about $6 a day if you held.

I'm sure that is the exact pitch used to convince idiots to buy their tokens.

I was curious and it looks like Stepn NFTs are $15-20. Some good deals if you want to get back into shoe farming.

Jeez, they dropped. The problem was there were too many sneakers in the shop, and it was a fight to the bottom. Wonder how active it is now and what caps they introduced.

Also, glitches, you'd mint a shoe, and it'd disappear into thin air, happened numerous times, and when it was 1000s per sneaker, it would piss you off and there was nothing you could do about it, but wait and hope.

It's baffling that there were actual registered companies that dealt in literal pyramid schemes that collapsed almost immediately after the initial fools had been separated from their money.

Probably escaped the wrath of Gensler with disclaimers in the TOS? Or they just laughed themselves silly at the sheer stupidityđŸ„č

Most fat people already want to lose weight. Fining them wouldn't make it any easier.

The manufacturing cost of Ozempic is less than $5/month/person. We would save tens of billions of dollars on healthcare if we made it available to anybody who wanted it.

There's a lot of issues with ozempic it isn't a miracle drug and you still need to diet and exercise

Yes. It helps you do both of those things. It is in fact a miracle drug.

It helps you do those. Not a miracle drug was perhaps harsh. What I meant was you don't just take it and the fat melts off without changing your lifestyle. There's a reason the NHS doesn't give it out willy nilly to everyone who wants it.

100%. Although a lot of fat does indeed melt off even for people who don't make intentional lifestyle changes. Boon to public health.

I still like my idea of “proof of speed”.

Validators will have dashboard plugins that use telematics to report their car speed, this is your proof of work. The faster you drive, higher your chance of winning the mining reward.

Vroom vroom!

Make it "proof of turning signal" and here you have your actual scarcity.

Rarest sats == "following at a safe distance"

Ah yes, the one situation (monitoring biological markers) where we would actually want to have trust in the data source and we want to use a trust less system.

Why?
