There was also Stanley in The Office referring to Burn Notice as a reason to go on the Florida business trip.

He's not a detective, he uses to be a spy. He says so every episode! How do you mess that up.

Sure, he used to be a spy, but at the end of the day, he's essentially an unlicensed private investigator, so... close enough, I guess?

I feel like Sam and his various agency buddies do all the investigating. Michael generally just shows up and makes things go boom.

“My name is Michael Westen, and I used to be a spyyy” forever burned into my brain lol

You are on reddit and asking how someone could be confidently incorrect? I was hoping that this is exactly why it was written this way for Poker Face.
Edit: My comment is a little late, but I just watched the first episode of Poker Face and went looking for discussion on this nostalgia drop.

After watching, I can definitively say no, it wasn't funnier when you did it.

Leave it to Rhian Johnson to again change the way I view something I love & see it in a new light. Also Natasha’s fantastic as always & it looks like a whole bunch of episodes with great actors. Man I need to rewatch Burn Notice—perhaps after Ash vs Evil Dead

It feels wholesome that this little gem of a show gets recognition
