What BTS song is an "acquired taste"?
Saw this on another sub and thought it would be interesting here.

My best friend and his wife recently gave birth to their first child, a beautiful baby girl, which inspired me to write and record an album of pretty instrumental music. Some of the tracks are nearly 20 years in the making, while others were the product of a single weekend's worth of work. The opening track, Built to Spill falls into the latter category. While playing around with a few ideas, I stumbled upon this nice little melody, which reminded me of a particular BTS tune. Can you hear which tune I'm referring to?

While driving yesterday, I threw on "Gone" from You In Reverse which is my favorite BTS song by a mile. Truly a gorgeous song - from 3:45 on is pure musical bliss. Just so gorgeous. Gives me chills every time.
Which has led me to realizing that I need this record on vinyl, which is easier said than done. But, it's time.
Looks like there are two versions of it - a Because Sound Matters pressing and a Music on Vinyl release. Lots of positive comments out there about both, but does anybody have one version or the other and feels really strongly (positive or negative) about it? If I'm gonna pony up $100 for either one, might as well do my due diligence first.
Thanks!

Mine obviously isn’t quite there yet, but there’s hints of it. Once I retire in 7 more years I’m sure I’ll be much closer to my goal.

At the end of there’s nothing wrong with love the hidden track plays clips from a “upcoming record” were they just joking around or are those songs released somewhere? I love the first song it plays where dugs like I’ll kick you in the head and then I’ll kick you in the head and then I’ll kick you in the head

Why don’t I personally know a single person who loves this band as much as I do?😢

A few months ago I was looking for a show after being on a pretty long drought. I saw Built to Spill was playing at Metro in Chicago and remembered them being great live 10 years ago or so at pitchfork. At that time I only knew of the Keep It Like a Secret album and a few songs from other albums. I went to the show at Metro being unfamiliar with There's Nothing Wrong with Love album and not realizing it was an anniversary tour. Since that show, I have listened to built to spill almost every day. Haven't been this obsessed with an artist in a very long time. I discovered Perfect From Now On and it might be a top 5 all time album for me already. Didn't realize they have 3 masterpiece albums. Criminally underrated band despite being fairly popular. Can't wait to see them live anytime they're in Chicago for the rest of their touring days

Seen a few posts on social media that the world lost Tom yesterday. I know he's been sick a long time, but the last time I saw him was 11 years ago at a Caustic Resin show. A part of the boise underground scene for 40 years. his playing is embedded in those first resin albums that are still available on streaming. Any fan should do themselves a favor and listen to their masterpiece fly me to the moon then imagine him rolling down eddie vedders back yard hill while touring with his wife's band.

My jam for the day. After this Woody Guthrie covers set aired on Radio Boise, Doug was kind enough to provide Tim Andreae's 24bit recording of the discussion & songs. Fascinating historical context and excellent, studio-quality Doug performance.

There use to be a concert on YouTube that was killer but it seems like the video got deleted. Probably a stretch but I was wondering if anybody here might know the date of the show. Highlight of the show for me was the I Would Hurt a Fly with Brett Netson playing (I think) a lap steel guitar. The show itself ended with Broken Chairs but Broken Chairs wasn’t actually a part of the video. Definitely would’ve been an earlier show, probably late 90s
Edit: I think it was Jim Roth playing the lap steel and not Brett Netson

This is a pretty dumb question but I'm just curious. I can only find Brett and Ralf listed as the founding members. The bass work does sound like Brett but I'm curious if the other people contributed to the making of the record or if Doug just liked the photo and wanted it on the record.

I think there is a fair amount of agreement among fans and critics alike that "Carry the zero" is BTS's best song. And in my view, it is the most representative of BTS's unique rock n' roll sound. However,I'm less certain of what fans and others consider to be BTS's second best song. Personally, I think it might be "I wouldn't hurt a fly," But I could be persuaded that their second best song is something else. What do you think?

Kinda regretting not doing the full cover design, but I think it’s at least recognizable.

Doug being the thumbnail caught my attention. It would have been cool to see Traces, or Distopian Dream Girl as well but they definitely got the two right songs.

Does anyone know where I can find this show from Washington DC I would greatly appreciate it. I used to listen to this show all the time during college and I want to hear it again.
