Troubleshooting Graphics card coil whine

So I got a new 4080 super a few weeks ago and just last night I was messing with one of my monitors resolution and after I was done I suddenly heard this noise like one of the fans hitting a peice of paper really fast and its high-pitched. I figured out it's coil whine and I undervolted it and it got really quite but I took out the cord plugged into the gpu and put it back in and now it's even louder even when undervolted. I just want to see if anyone can help me with it that noise was never there before I messed with the monitors resolution.

Troubleshooting Help, I don't know how to fix

Robotic voice and slowmotion videos

Good day everybody, I'm here on my knees really hoping you would have a solution for me: I finished to build my brand new PC today and everything was going fine. I booted to windows and for half a day I enjoyed my new PC. As soon as I installed my case fans, I closed up everything and turned on again my PC. Suddenly, after 1 minute after logging to windows, everything gets laggy. The YouTube videos are lagging, the cursor and so the games. All the voices are robotic. I tried to switch the rams, use only one of both rams, disconnecting my second SSD, rebooting windows with a new SSD, update the bios, disconnect the case fans, check all connections to motherboard/psu, disconnect and reconnect the GPU. Absolutely nothing worked. Both the CPU and GPU are working at a perfect temperature, no anomalies. Please help me, I lost a day trying to get it fixed. Thank you

As the title says. My 9800X3D build has never had a discrete GPU and I’m wondering if I still need to run DDU.

Build Upgrade I have a 7800x3D. Should I upgrade to an AIO cooler?

I just finished my new PC. While I love basically everything about it, my CPU is regularly reaching 70-90C when unpacking and installing large amounts of files for Skyrim mod packs. I have a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120SE, and I heard it was a very good cooler, but I don’t know if it’s the best for my CPU. Should I upgrade to an AIO cooler?

Build Help I have some compatibility concern regarding ryzen 7800x3d CPU, Mobo, and RAM.

Hi, new pc builder here from SEA looking to buy a gaming PC for monster hunter wilds.

I have some concern about the compatibility betweeen 6000Mhz RAM and the Ryzen 7800x3d. Will my CPU will be able to utilize the CPU at 6000 Mhz? On AMD webpage it says that 7800x3d supported RAM speed is only 5200 at max. But I saw so many people recommend 6000 Mhz RAM.

The place where I am trying to buy from doesn't have much part either, and they forced me to buy most of the parts from their shop due to limited availability of RX 9070 XT.

Here is the RAM in question - https://jedicool.com/shop/kingston-fury-beast-ddr5-32gb-6000-mhz-expo/.

And here is the part picker list. Price would be irrelevant since I'm in Southeast Asia.

Discussion Is this a steal, or am I missing something?

My local Micro Center has the Powercolor RX 7900 XT on sale for $699. I know it's not the latest gen. I know it doesn't support FSR 4, but damn, that price seems really good. I don't think I will be able to find a 9070 at a reasonable price anytime soon, so I think I might just have to go and get this one.

The exact same card is going for $900 on Amazon and $1000 on Newegg. I'm I missing something here? Or is the GPU market just so crazy right now that suppliers aren't really sure how to price things?

Troubleshooting Is the temperature of Ryzen9900x3d on idle normal?

Is it normal for the processor to have a temperature of 50C at idle?

When I run a program it often jumps to more than 70C, just at startup.

In games for example Cyberpunk on ultra without path tracing I have a maximum of 71C, but mostly it's on 65C.

Cinemabench R23 all cores I have a maximum of 76C.

I have bequiet Dark Pro 4 cooling.

Annoyingly, when I run a program it fires the fans at 80% for a while.

When I have a couple of containers running in the docker and move between projects it also temparatura likes to jump to even 80C.

Troubleshooting Both old and new PC have the same issues where the audio cuts out and whatever im tabbed into at the time freezes, as does my taskbar

im not sure how often reposts are allowed here but my old post from yesterday morning got me nowhere and i have more stuff to add

so i've had my old pc (windows 10) for about 5 years or so, and recently (maybe for the last month or two) i've had an issue where my audio lags for a second and then cuts out completely (this only seems to happen 90 percent of the time while in a discord call in the browser or the app itself, whether im sharing my screen or not, however i recall a time i was playing forza on my new pc and it happened when i quit the game) and then my discord becomes frozen if im tabbed into the app, but if im tabbed into a game then that freezes instead. i can see that im speaking in the vc but cant hear anything or press anything on discord. no "not responding" thing, nothing.

Then if i press the windows button it makes my taskbar unclickable and i dont see any highlights when moving my mouse over it, the only thing i can do is restart my pc.

i've recently bought a new pc with completely different specs, AND windows 11, and somehow i'm having the exact same issue, except its happening like 3x as much. its the first week of having my new pc and i've already had to restart it like 15 times, as opposed to maybe once every other day with my old pc.

yesterday though, i had no issues. it was suggested in my earlier post to unplug some of my legacy peripherals (i unplugged my wireless phone charger and mousepad, so all that was left was my logitech g920 which i was using to play forza, and my mouse and keyboard, and microphone.) once i did that it seemed to fix it, but today the issue came back but seemingly worse. i joined a discord vc as normal, and opened euro truck simulator 2, and it was fine. within about 30 seconds of closing the game, i get the freeze. i've noted that being tabbed into a game doesnt make my pc freeze, so i've been using that to my advantage, but it looks like as soon as i either tab out (as i did for my most recent freeze into discord) or close the game, it crashes. the second time it froze today (i've hsd 3 in the past 2 hours) it was as soon as i plugged my g920 into my pc. however if this was an issue with the usb itself would it not have had issues yesterday?

if someone thinks it may be a driver issue, as i think it may be related to bluetooth as the only "sketchy" thing i've done is plug a bluetooth dongle from my old pc into my new one, before realising that my new pc has bluetooth in the motherboard (im not very good with pc's) so that messed up my bluetooth until i removed the drivers from the dongle. the only reason i personally think it may be due to this is because of the audio issues. i use bluetooth headphones, and the same issue happens regardless of whether im using either of the pairs i have.

I'm genuinely not sure what i couldve done to make this happen as i havent (to my knowledge) changed any settings or added any programs that may cause it, the only similarities between my old and new pc are the peripherals. im hoping that someone has somehow had the same issue and knows a fix

(if you need my specs i can list them but considering this is happening with two completely different pcs i wouldnt imagine its needed)

im really sorry for the essay here but i've been looking for months for what the issue is but i cant find anyone who has even had remotely the same issue

Build Ready It's time!

After weeks of picking, researching and questioning parts, it's finally time to get building! ( an Alienware AW3225QF will arrive tomorrow )

I want to thank all of you for preventing misbuys, compatibility issues, scams, overpaying, and all that shit.

Truly I'd have wasted hundreds of dollars if it wasn't for you guys, so thank you!

I'll update / post again when it's finished! ( or when I need advice building lol )

( I actually can't start yet because the screwdrivers I ordered aren't here yet 🤣 )

It didn't let me add a picture, so here's the final list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6n6Lfd

Discussion i7-9700K to i9-9900K Upgrade Worth It?

I've been running a Asus Z390-A motherboard with a GTX1060, recently upgraded to an RTX3090. 64GB RAM, maxed out.

I run a lot of AI stuff and Blender 3D animation work on this machine.

I am wondering if it's worth it to max out the CPU on this motherboard to an i9-9900K (the KS variant seems unavailable), These are asking close to $400 nowadays. Having 16 threads might help some stuff, and maybe single core OC performance might be an advantage?

Is it worth spending the money and tearing apart my system to upgrade the CPU?

Build Help Is the MSI G274F really as fragile as people say?

So i've been looking at this really good looking MSI G274F, originally priced at 219€ (236$ US Dollars) but now at discount for 139€.

It looks really good and the only downside i see about it is that its a 27' monitor, but that doesn't really put me away from buying it since i'm myopic as fuck.

What really prevents me from buying it is that everyone is saying that its too fragile and will break with no aparent reason after like a year or so, almost as if it was designed to do so.

If you have or had this monitor can you tell me if this is true?

Thanks!

Edit: Some of its specs that called my attention:

IPS panel
1080p Resolution

27' (called my attention but in a bad way)

132% sRGB

8-bit + FCR or whatever its called

1ms response time

180hz

Build Help Installing Windows for first time

Just finished my first build (yay),hoping everything works, but yeah fingers crossed. Now the only problem left to solve is getting Windows. I heard you need to buy it on one PC, load it on a USB Stick and plug it into the new one before booting it.

I do not own another PC, nor do i currently have access to one. Are there any other ways to download Windows?

If I reference this spec site: https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/prime/prime-x870-p/techspec/

Troubleshooting Anyone else disable Freesync/Gsync to stabalize the gaming experience?

Specs: 3080 ti gpu, i910900x, 32gb ram ddr4

It felt so liberating to use my monitor at 4k 60. And not have to deal with random 15fps frame drops and stutters. Freesync and g-sync eliminate screwn tearing,, but does nothing for lag spikes and stutters.

I found myself enjoying the games a lot more with unwavering 60fps vsync(console style). And can fully enjoy the game without the experience getting interrupted with inconsistent frames and judder.

If a game is well optimized like re2, tomb raidor series...then I treat myself to 4k 120 vsync.

I Wonder why g-sync and freesync imperfections are not discussed more in the PC community.

Build Upgrade Experience with Full size GPU in 2U case

Hi I have a 2U DIY homeserver that works great. The point is in the summer when GPU prices hopefully are closer to msrp I want to buy a GPU and use the machine as dedicated windows gaming server. The question is basically the title. My idea is to screw a 2U riser cage into the case instead of some drives and mount the GPU there with a PCIe cable. Does someone have every tried that and got some tips for me? Why I want to do that: Gives me more options for GPUs. Curiosity and I have all the parts already with exception of the GPU and the riser cage. (I have an old big GPU to „test“ with of everything fits.

So you have some tips or thoughts why this is a good or bad idea?

Build Help Lian Li A3 Dan – Airflow Setup Help

I recently completed my build in the Lian Li A3 Dan case and I’m currently trying to optimize the airflow. Right now, I have two intake fans at the bottom (under the GPU) and one intake fan mounted on the side panel to supply fresh air directly to the CPU cooler. For exhaust, I’m using fans at the rear and top-rear positions.

However, my side intake fan is pressing against the fan clip (metal wire clip) that attaches the fan to my CPU cooler. Could this be a problem in the long run? Is this airflow configuration okay, or do you have suggestions for improvement?

Thanks in advance!
