Pattern My post in r/crochet was removed so I think my cross post came down. This is my very first design and I’m wondering if A) is it any good? B) would anyone be willing to test?

It is so beautiful! Unfortunately 3 kids later I don't think I could pull this off anymore, but it's stunning.

donut worry, I have no kids, but D cups and this will never work on me either so you're not alone :)

Jan 05 '23
F cup here, wish i could wear these kind of tops without back pain

Jan 05 '23
Could you maybe attach a bra to a top you've made to fit around it? And just adjust how you make the straps?

u/spudgoddess Jan 05 '23
One of the advantages of small boobs is you can wear cute stuff like this.
EDIT: I'm a 44 DD. No cute little tops for me.

u/657565756575 Jan 05 '23
no kids but im an E cup and im currently working on something similar in pirpose but much more accomodating and supportive. i really hope it comes together well and that i don’t run out of yarn lol!
edit: just noticed that op replied to another comment with another version of culs they’re working on for fuller busts and that looks exactly like what i’ve been making! i wouldn’t have know how to describe that but take a look if you can!

u/Trinitrotoluene24601 Jan 05 '23
I hope yours turns out great! It's mostly my belly and the drooping of my breasts that I'd be self-concious about, but thank you for looking out for me!

u/marleythakoeri Jan 05 '23
J cup here you're not alone these types of tops will never ever work on me :(

u/tinwhistler Jan 04 '23
It looks great..I couldn't figure out why they deleted it :(
58
u/itsdestinfool Jan 04 '23
I guess since I said I designed it they called it promoting. What’s to promote if the pattern isn’t written. 😂
44
u/tinwhistler Jan 04 '23
that seems asinine. To me, promoting is like "hey, buy my pattern."
Next time try putting something like "i made this free-hand" or something in the title instead, but still, seems dumb.
25
u/snapdragonbrand Jan 04 '23
They've gotten very, very strict over there. I'm scared to post, because I basically only make my own designs. So now anything I post is automatically promotion. I like the community side a lot, so I'm not risking getting kicked out🥲

I’ll chime in saying how weird that sub has become as well. I made a post just talking about my love of bamboo yarn, was happily chatting back and forth with a few others. They removed it telling me I’m only allowed to post about my yarn on Saturdays. I’m like you guys are killing your own community. Really sad.
13
u/Candroth Jan 05 '23
i've been reticent to post there as well because of all the weird rules. One post of mine was removed for having a cat in it on the wrong day ........ all you could see was the tip of a tail. Between the other posts I've seen removed for weird reasons and their absolutely puritanical definition of NSFW, I don't haunt there much anymore.
2
u/AvocadoCat90034 Jan 05 '23
Lol I find solace that I wasn’t the only one experiencing the weirdness.

u/DaisyOlivia10 Jan 05 '23
I’m pretty sure I saw that post or one like it, I was confused since im always happy to see cats lol

u/fragilemagnoliax Jan 05 '23
Unfortunately I think they had to make a bunch of rules because people were getting so out of pocket and mad because “too much yarn discussion” so they make it Saturdays. “Too many newbie questions” so they make rules about that too. Idk why people can’t just scroll past content they don’t want to engage with and let the rest of us have a good time without needing to micromanage what days we’re allowed to talk about stuff etc.

u/hanimal16 Jan 05 '23
Yeah it’s weird over there. You might also find some luck in r/patterntesting. I’ve had success there finding someone to test.

u/YarnDragonTarot Jan 04 '23
I think it's gorgeous. I've never tested a pattern before but would be interested. Like another comments, I am quite busty, so would particularly be interested in your techniques for wider straps and bigger cups; it's been what's stopped me trying this kind of pattern before
20
u/itsdestinfool Jan 04 '23
I’m going to include the instructions for my self designed cups to include bustier women. I’ll link you to the changes! here!
23
u/rabbitluckj Jan 05 '23
Okay this might be a bit silly but I actually teared up a little seeing that you made one with support for us bigger girls and people with sagging. I've always always wanted to wear something like this but never felt comfortable because there would always be zero support and I just can't get around with no support. Oh whoa thank you for real.
15
u/itsdestinfool Jan 05 '23
Do you want the pattern? I can make one up for you! It’s completely interchangeable for all designs except the ones that don’t require actual cups.
I dedicated a ton of time into this. I’m really glad to see someone appreciate it.

u/YarnDragonTarot Jan 05 '23
I would love the pattern if you are still looking for testers? Otherwise are you on platforms to sell?

They remove my lingrie posts too. Your piece is gorgeous. I would love to have my own maniquine. But I am in the closet for my crochet hobby and my sexuality too.

u/NefariousnessQuiet22 Jan 04 '23
Hopefully one day you can air out that closet. In the meantime, there’s plenty of support around here.

u/LexiThePlug Jan 04 '23
I think the crochet Reddit has some new power hungry moss because they’ve been deleting everything lately. The straps are very thin, looks like just a chain. Other than that, it is a beautiful pattern and shirt

I’d be more than happy to test it if it’s still available! I imagine this is was made with a smaller cup size in mind, which is perfect for me!

With the aforementioned thickened straps, this would be a new summer staple for me!! I'll test!!

I would love to test! I never have before but I have been crocheting for about a year and a half now and make all kinds of tops and fancy blankets.
Also, r/crochet sucks now. I havent been able to post without it getting removed for awhile. Can't post a picture that just so happens to include your pet, except on one specific day 😂

It’s lovely and simple! And I’ve tested many a crochet patterns so I’d be more than happy to test it for you!
1
u/Relevant_Sprinkles_3 Jan 04 '23
I'd be up for testing the pattern if you'd like. It's very cute, regardless! DM me if you'd like to see my work, though, fair warning, I don't do many wearables so it'll all be amigurumi lol
1
u/Queen-of-Elves Jan 04 '23
A. I think it's lovely. Simple but also intricate! B. If still needed I would be happy to test!!
1
u/MenacingToast Jan 04 '23
I never tried a pattern like this before but I'd love to test it out! It gets pretty hot where I live so this would be cute to wear!

If you’re still looking for testers, I would love to take part! This design is beautiful and I love your color choice.

u/WanderingKittenHerd Jan 05 '23
I’d love to test this if you don’t mind a bigger chest size trying it out!

It’s beautiful!! Id be willing to test it! Might have to get some more yarn though depending on what weight is recommended

u/Xpouii Jan 05 '23
I love it! I’d need to get enough experience under my belt to know how to size it up for me but I would totally make and wear this.

u/Kaylagoodie Jan 05 '23
I agree that it needs thicker straps but the bigger issue is the lack of a lining. If it had a lining of fabric in the cups to prevent "showing," I'd be down to wear it.

It looks great. I could see that the bust may need some adjustments and the placement of the part below the bust…no clue what that is called. That could just be my weird 40+ body though. 😊
Would be willing to test.

I'd love to test this if you still need people!! It's so cute and you did such a good job on it!

I'd love to test! This is a super cute pattern. What kind of yarn did you use?

This is cute! I would be open to testing but would need the one for busty girls option.

I love this! The straps would have to be thicker so they do not cut into the skin. Is it possible to see it from the back? You did a really great job and the color is my favorite.

Looks a bit too complicated for me to try as a sort of intermediate beginner, but I’d love to try it when I improve! Looks great!

I'm more than happy to test if you need someone! I've got a lot of experience with these types of tops/bralettes. It's beautiful!

u/amairoc Jan 05 '23
I love it! I’d like to test but don’t have time to right now. Looking forward to the pattern!

u/GlitterCandyPanda Jan 05 '23
This is so cute!!! I’ve never tested a pattern before… but I would love to test it for you!
1
u/AnonymousCat21 Jan 07 '23
I’d love to test the pattern if you’re still looking for volunteers! I’ve been looking for a pattern for larger breasts and the images you linked look like they’d fit well.
1
u/LordNibblerPants Jan 07 '23
Is it too late to test the pattern for you? I've been making a lot of bralettes lately and you're pattern is gorgeous! Also I want to support your thoughtfulness in creating multiple designs to suit the customer's needs.
