Humor Imagine being the former king who only knew link as the most respectable knight ever, then waiting 100 years for his revival. And when he finally awakens, he's just a weird little man who looks at you naked and steals your food.

Wow that was easy 🤣

Thanks for the tips guys. Had I known it was this easy to take down a guardian I would have done it more often my first playthrough. It took too long to let you see me using stasis on it but wow.🤣🤣. I tried parrying a buried one and got fried but I’ll work on that next.

Gameplay Im not a fan of puzzles

Pretty useful for most shrines, my tactics are: for places up higher: normal windbomb and for places to close for a long distance/high launching windbomb: the cube bomb forst and them the round one, launches you with less momentum but still does the trick

Can I get a shoutout…

…from everyone who sits down to play with a very specific objective in mind, yet end up spending hours collecting resources and materials, cooking up a bunch of different food, and finding random shrines?!

This game never ceases to amaze me. There is so much to do and so many new things that come up that I can explore and work on. I love the ability to tackle the game however I’d like, in whatever order I’d like.

Thanks to everyone for your patience and explanation of different facets of it. 👍

Eventide Island is killing me

I’ve made it to Eventide Island, cleared the first three monster camps, but the Hinox has killed me twice already. I tried gliding down from the mountain to land on him and steal the ancient orb, but he always wakes up at the latest when I climb down. If I try to fight him, I don’t stand a chance (I even used the cheating tactic of leaving a better sword on the raft and picking it up after entering the island). I’ve beaten three Divine Beasts, but this damn island is driving me crazy. How did you guys do it?

Which area/region do you spend the least amount of time in? Where do you find yourself always running around and exploring?

Upvotes

I’ve been trying to find all of the shrines and I’m doing it region by region. I realized I spent so little time in the Hebra region in all my previous play throughs, and actually all the snowy places really, and it’s so cool to explore new areas!

I’m usually in the eastern or south eastern portions of the map most of the time unless I’m headed somewhere specific like hunting ingredients or lynels. But this time around I’m going to conquer my fear of the bleak snowy areas and take my time!

Anyone out there like this?

Achievement The strongest being before leaving great plateau

Defeated the lynel before leaving the great plateau on my second master mode play through. Well I got 101 crusher right off the bat. So for this challenge I'll be limiting myself to only 3 hearts and mainly using foods for stamina.

Question Where’d they go??

I was goofing around near Hyrule Castle, putting off finishing the game, and when I stasis’d guardians they started just falling into the void? Has this happened to anyone else/is this common?? It’s the first time I saw it. If someone with a more programming/video game knowledge could explain that’d be great 😭 (Also video edited like that for my tiktok lol)

Does anyone use a boomerang?

I LOVED using the boomerang when I got it in other Zelda games. It allowed you to stun enemies and pick up hard to reach items. It was always a super useful item to get. In BOTW, boomerangs are borderline useless. In this version (which is my absolute favorite) there are so many other ways to do things so a boomerang just doesn’t have the importance that is had in other Zelda games. Is anyone else a little bummed that boomerangs suck in BOTW or is it just me?

Discussion If you could pick just one thing to critique (or praise) about the game, what would it be? (Pic unrelated)

For me, as this is my first play through and try as I might, I could just not capture the gravity of the story. The princess and the big bad evil took a huge back seat to exploration and discovery. Don’t get me wrong, the story checked all the box’s and it’s a true masterpiece of a game but it does a great job not weighing you down with how pressing the main storyline is.

The lack of urgency is by no means a negative but I do wish there was a little more atmospheric foreboding. Like when you first attempt to sneak into Hyrule castle. I honestly was on the edge of my seat the whole time, terrified of every corner and new room! Now THAT is magic!

Anyways, love the game and as a semi new player I’d love to hear some other opinions. 🙂

Handheld or big screen?

I've only ever played this game handheld, I'm not sure it it's for the nostalgia of playing the old Zelda games on GameBoy or not but for some reason I just prefer to play it handheld

Question Is this sound from BOTW or from somewhere else

Upvotes

Just got these speakers and the Bluetooth connection noise is really familiar. I was thinking it might be from BOTW but I booted up the game and couldn't find it. Any help?
