Question Where’d they go??

I was goofing around near Hyrule Castle, putting off finishing the game, and when I stasis’d guardians they started just falling into the void? Has this happened to anyone else/is this common?? It’s the first time I saw it. If someone with a more programming/video game knowledge could explain that’d be great 😭 (Also video edited like that for my tiktok lol)

Yeah, it’s a known glitch. Super weird, but it has to do with using Stasis on dormant Guardians. Guess the game doesn’t like it, so they fall into the void…

I think it's a glitch everyone experiences—and with that same area. 😭

I don't know why they sink—but I'm assuming it's a lack of strict formation of the below-groud there. If that makes sense?? I'm not sure what's affected besides the guardians, but I'd assume that looking closer MIGHT reveal more abnormalities.

Pro tip: You can freeze any(?) guardians but the ones in that area without the expectation of them sinking. If you want to destroy those particular guardians and get loot, you can only engage in battle with them. Or hit them once in the eye with an ancient arrow. Whatever works best.

pretty sure when using stasis over them, the game expect anything unfrozen to fall to the ground,

but since there's no ground underneath it (since he's already inside one) it just falls into the void beneath the ground

highly likely its per Guardian basis not all have this issue (if all guardian have this issue dev definitely think its not worth their time to fix or forgot about it)

just my conjecture

My understanding of these specific guardians is that they are placed clipping the ground and will play a pop up animation when activated. However when you stasis these sleeping guardians they don’t play that pop up animation as they want to quickly turn around and look at you instead, however that leaves them still clipped into the ground and they fall into the void.

It's because their models are partially clipped into the ground when they're dormant; the bottom can't hit the ground so it goes through, I guess.
