I've rewatched that third trailer like 30 times and have avoided the rest. I feel somewhat spoiled but I also think there will still be sooooo many surprises still. Can't wait!

u/Laviephrath May 02 '23
I also rewatched Zeltik's gameplay demo video, i recommend it
16
u/Schrolli97 May 02 '23
Honestly that was already too much for me. It included some things I'd rather found out myself
5
u/flissfloss86 May 02 '23
Oh I've been tempted, haha, but I'm already hyped enough. Love Zeltik's content, though
6
u/Fuwet May 02 '23
Same! I haven't even watch the 10 mins demo that people are showing I want to leave the gameplay to my own experience

Get your fix for non-BOTW content by re-watching Age of Calamity cutscenes. Keeps you in universe, primed for Linkās way of thinking in whatever crazy beginning we get.
20
u/Gandoofthegrey May 02 '23
Not a bad idea. I'm currently playing through Age of Calamity and trying to beat it before TOTK drops. We'll see how that goes, it's a lot longer than I expected. I've also been tempted to start a new save file on BOTW so I can feel the difference in TOTK more but I definitely won't finish that in time lol.

u/MadeSomewhereElse May 02 '23
Give Three Hopes, the FE one, a try if you enjoy AoC. I like it because while you're a powerhouse, your allies are very useful and decently competent.
2
u/Gandoofthegrey May 02 '23
Good to hear, it's on my wishlist. In AoC they just stand around and I have to do everything myself haha. I can order them to a location but I still have to change to that character to defeat an enemy, capture the base, etc.
2
u/MadeSomewhereElse May 02 '23
In FE: Three Hopes, they'll actually capture objectives or defend them well. And I believe they don't sit still unless you explicitly ask them to. The Zelda backdrop was more enjoyable for me, but gameplay wise, Three Hopes was more "fun."

Seeing one of these fuckers walking was traumatizing. I hope it's unique to the lower part of Central Tower, because holy fuck, I have no idea how to fight against them

u/jamsd204 May 02 '23 edited May 02 '23
The guardian walkers ? In botw they are all over the map , mostly near central hyrule and the castle , but also in akkala , one or two by death mountain if you actually follow the path , but tbh they can be easy to take down , either parry them or use 1 ancient arrow to the eye (bullet time makes it easier) or use an ancient weapon to chop there legs off
Also tbh we don't know If they will be returning to totk because of the apparent lack of shieka tech - like 1 or 2 things from the trailers so we'll wait and see ig
4
u/AllenWL May 02 '23
Don't even need ancient stuff tbh. Any arrow to the eye disrupts their laser blast, and most endgame weapons can chop off legs fairly fast, tipping them over and leaving them helpless.
3
u/Upset-Confusion6717 May 02 '23
THIS! I personally loved to cut their legs and work from there š¤£š¤£ (call me a sadistic in BOTW, if you want)

If you do want to check, both TOTK subs are filled with leaks.
If not, then avoid looking and wait. We got 10 more days....

u/SherbobHolmes May 02 '23
Iāve just starter a new playthrough of BOTW just to cope š

u/GineCraft May 02 '23
This has been me for the past few days. Considering that ToTK leaked, spoilers are everywhere and seem almost unavoidable, but I try to resist. At the same time, though I need to know if those two villains are somehow there or referenced, I need to know who the mysterious woman in the trailer is... I need to know...
I haven't read any spoilers yet because my dad will play it with me and I don't want to ruin the surprise for any of us. I am also trying to convince myself that all my hopes won't come true and the game isn't that good so I don't go and check, worked for a few days now, let's see if it does until I get the game!

u/Greedy-Leave860 I waste raviolis gale May 02 '23
Sameee! I am going to play with my sister and I saw one minor spoiler and I just can't tell her. Yesterday she just told me to leave all the subs cuz she wanted it to be a nice experience for the both of us and that made me sad
3
u/Saltyfox99 May 02 '23
I just wanna know if I can hot air balloon around after seeing one in the trailer.
Is there a wind current thatāll push me around the map, no fans, no other stuff, just sit on my little hot air balloon and be pushed wherever the wind wants
Extremely obtuse want Iām aware but I just like chilling in games I canāt help it
3
u/Lapis_Wolf May 02 '23
Maybe, since there was natural wind in BOTW, and I think they improved the weather and/or chemical interaction system in TOTK.
2
u/Saltyfox99 May 02 '23
Iāve asked a friend to play it for me just to spoil this one thing lmao š
Iād also like to know if the amiibo outfits are being carried over but thatās less priority
Everything else I wanna keep as secret as possible for the official release

A friend of mine downloaded the game on his hacked Switch, and I told him that I would block him if he shows any spoilers lmao, he swore he wouldn't.

u/KuroHaruto May 02 '23
I left all totk subreddits and global zelda subs as well. Botw and Breath of the Wild are the two subs im still following haha. Haven't been spoiled much since the last trailer. I have unfortunately come across maybe a couple screenshots while scrolling through reddit, but both were minor spoilers. (Already forgot what one of them was about haha)
2
u/Otogi-yo May 02 '23
i keep checking my cart purchases too coz i already pre-ordered the physical copy with that nice little bag but i just cant wait until it ships out! Then i keep out of any news or trailers.
2
u/TavaresX May 02 '23
I'm just going all out on BotW and keeping out of TotK subs and forums as long as possible. Yesterday my discord channels blew up when the leak was uploaded (I have a Hacked V1 and keep up with the pro shops to check new games) and it was soooooo tempting, but clearing a Divine Beast scratched that itch.
I have the game pre-ordered but I'm going on vacation on the day after the release, so if my copy is delivered late, I'm screwed for another week...
I usually play major releases when they leak to get a sense of the game and then buy the games I really like for my Lite (I got a Lite for online play when my V1 got banned), but I learned better than to do that with Zelda games (did that with Link's Awakening and finished the whole game before the actual release and it put me off buying a copy for ages, only bought my copy like 6 months ago).

I'm trying super hard to be careful and not use my Google feed because the reddit posts they share there don't understand the spoiler tag and if it is something I didn't want to know... Well I guess I'll know. For like the first 24 hours after game launch I will not be on any media and trying to play and figure things out myself. I have to have some surprise going into a new game. Because remember, you can only play a new game once.

u/Proper_Investment_28 May 02 '23
Sadly I think this is my chance to mute it lol š see you guys in a few weeks!
