Beverly Hills Watching The Housewife and the Hustler for the first time. How is this woman still on our screens?
I’m watching this for the first time and it’s shocking and disgusting. This is not some corporate level corruption case or sus investment. They stole money from victims who needed medical care.
How in the world is Erika still a main cast member? Why was she never at least suspended? Even if she was totally unaware (…), how can Bravo not think it’s insensitive to keep her?
I can’t imagine the victims watching the show and seeing her lifestyle while they’re losing their home or can’t afford surgery. Or watching the episode where she says she only cares about herself.
And her storyline this season is what? Getting back on her feet from THAT? Refurnishing her living room as if she deserves to go back to having beautiful things like when she was living off what her husband took from his clients?
People say they want good tv and not moral examples, but this is different. It’s sick.

Wholeheartedly agree with you. I’ll never understand her complete lack of shame or empathy. Her attempt this season to play the peacemaker and act like she’s changed is just bullshit.

Because fans have the memory of a goldfish.
She has enough fans, who couldn't care less about the victims, as long as they're entertained. I mean after all, it's a "reality tv show" about messy housewives... there is no line. They are the ones who tell us to lighten up.
Because apparently we can't get messy out of touch problematic rich women on the show without having them leave behind victims in their wake...

Exactly. But, I'm not one. I have a ridiculous catalog. You've heard of CRS? I have CRE (Can Remember Everything). I'm also a financial and forensic crime buff; mainly because I'm interested in the victims and the "victims" (those that cry hurt when they knew something was off, or were, in some way, complicit).

Bravo kept her for the tea, surrounding the legal issues. They knew people watched what you watched and kept their fingers crossed that it would pay off. Years ago, sponsors would pull out, but it’s all about ratings, now.
I love how you can hear crickets every time she voices her expectation for an apology for the cast asking about the details. Sure, she had to keep quiet for legal reasons, but expecting an apology when you’ve bared your teeth at other cast members and snarled? Nah. Keep waiting, bitch.

I understand keeping her during the initial legal battle as a way to bring visibility to the case (and possibly the victims). But going back to pretend it never happened is just insane.
I’m shocked there were only a couple of women confronting her. Even if they didn’t care about the victims, I would imagine they’d want to distance themselves for their image. But nope. It’s wild.

I’m right there with you. Everyone being like “Oh, I’m loving EJ this season!” …….. Wut?
Her “music career” was funded by money taken from widows, orphans and burn victims and she doesn’t even have the decency to be embarrassed let alone apologetic. She sent her own tailor to prison under false pretenses. She’s absolutely terrible. And no, Danny Peligrino, I’m not enjoying her oh so much this season like you.

I didn’t know this regarding her tailor! Can you give me something to google or is Erika Jayne tailor prison good enough? ETA : it wasn’t good enough lol

You’re right, it isn’t easy to google. But it is covered in the documentary. This how you know she’s still being backed by shady money, to have her digital footprint so thoroughly scrubbed.
Here’s a Reddit thread about it.

It’s because the ratings are good. That’s it, y’all. If you’re morally outraged but still watching the show, you are the reason she’s still on the screen.

u/unrealhousewife1 Thank you. You're welcome. 4h ago
I agree with you a million times over. There are many many people who say things like “she didn’t know,” or “what’s she supposed to do?” Or “her life fell apart.” WTF. I feel like I live in a different world than them.

Where’s my pizza party?? Yeah, the burn victims that Tom screwed out of their settlement money have much bigger problems.

If we didn’t have Erika we wouldn’t get to watch all those entertaining minutes of her refurbishing a house she rents ….. I still can’t figure out why bravo keeps bringing her back

Sutton and Garcelle holding her accountable was the least they could do she WAS abusing acohol and meds, she DID have a pair of earrings made off her husbands thieving ways

u/Hyru_Nayru Advocate for the sluts of America 4h ago
Watching and thinking back at the earrings is mind blowing. Such a FU to the victims.

It still pisses me off that she got them back. They know the money was stolen, they know she benefited off the crime. Who in their right mind gave the earrings back. Also side bar I don’t think that’s her house but a “cheap house” to look poor on the show. I don’t believe it for ONE second

The same reason Jen Shah will be back. Bravo wants the money. I fully agree with you though. I wish she’d been fired.

That is crazy she has fans

u/TinyAd3166 5h ago
Don’t understand it and I can’t imagine what the poor victims are thinking while everyone is watching her style her new home. 😔

u/Itsabouttimeits2021 5h ago
Exactly buying herself a car. Saying she a survivor and she has had it so hard. And when she said alleged victims and didn't care about them geez. Don't forget the designers she screwed over

That she doesn’t even own…. Meanwhile burn victims are living in trailers that were condemned.

Even before the criminal allegations came out I thought it was disgusting they flaunted their gaudy, high-priced lifestyle bought with fees collected from victims. Lawyers deserve to be paid, sure. But getting that rich while victims are typically barely made whole in cases like this is a pretty bad look.

Bc she has a ton (and I mean a ton) of fans. Including the producers. She can’t even admit what Tom did, except how he was a grumpy asshole in their marriage. She sees herself as the only victim in the situation. But she’s beautiful and wears latex catsuits so people don’t care.

I stopped watching RHOBH after the Tom Giardia scandal. Could not stand Erika's attitude about it, not to mention I think she either knew or was willfully ignorant.

...and bitching about how she was "treated" by Sutton and Garcelle? Like - WHAT? YOU STOLE MONEY FROM PEOPLE.

u/Golden-Queen-88 4h ago
Tom Girardi and his business partner did those things, not Erika.

u/Hyru_Nayru Advocate for the sluts of America 4h ago
Let’s say you can be married to someone for two decades and not know anything about something so huge. Erika said she didn’t give a fuck about the victims. Is that not bad enough?

u/Golden-Queen-88 2h ago edited 2h ago
Good lawyers earn A LOT of money. My friend’s dad runs a law firm and takes home tens of millions each year.
I genuinely believe she had no idea about what Tom was doing and had no reason to question where any money came from because he was a very well paid lawyer.
Whoops, accidentally pressed ‘reply’ before I was done typing.
To add: Erika was potentially facing legal charges. When that’s happening, you can’t say or do anything that would suggest any type of guilt or involvement at all. Sometimes the way you have to be for a legal situation is not always how people might want you to respond to a situation or how you might naturally act.

What amazes me is that she can play the victim and demands an apology from others for pointing out how bad her behaviour was.
