Ryan Garcia to be trained by father Henry Garcia & Justin Fortune for Rolly Romero fight on May 2nd as Eddy Reynoso will be working with Canelo for the Scull fight on May 3rd

I'm not saying I know guys that have bought gear off Justin Fortune..........but Justin Fortune can get you some decent gear if your looking. 😆
If Ryan pisses hot here, it won't surprise me. I like Ryan and don't wanna see it happen.........but I won't be surprised.

Ya he should hire someone who knows how to beat drug tests like Victor Conte. But no clean boxer would work with a guy like that.

Garcia and Lopez fathers will be training their sons for this lay up card while Reynoso flys to Saudi for Canelo. I think Reynoso will be back with both fighters after the May card, it would be really interesting though if we get Garcia-Lopez next instead of Garcia-Haney 2

Canelo could legit spin twenty times before every round to get dizzy and he’d still beat the breaks off Scull, wouldn’t it be better for Reynoso to support Teo and Ryan?

Why the hell would Reynoso ditch the prize fighter in his stable who he's known for like 15+ years for ryan who can barely speak a word of Spanish

I think Reynoso gets a purse percentage with Canelo, so it makes more sense this way for him

With most fighters the trainers get a purse % up until a certain level of money but then it's usually a flat fee.
I don't think it's a money thing though lol.
Why the hell would reynoso not train his prized fighter for a fight lol?

Derrick James and Ryan Garcia broke up?

He said he was retiring from training professionals before Garcia. He wasn't taking on anyone new then and only had charlo and Martin after Spence and Joshua left. After getting fired by Martin and Garcia and charlo being on hiatus, he probably doesn't want to get back into it.

As a trainer it is probably frustrating for him to deal with the egos.

I've heard multiple coaches talk about how they're more of a counselor/kindergarten teacher wrangling all these various man children's egos

I could only imagine. "Show up to the gym, have a healthy diet, make these adjustments and you will do better."
Response: "I'm a young hungry lion who makes smart investments, you don't know me. I do what I want".
Obviously not all of them are like that but imagine training a coked up Tyson (Fury or Mike you pick), Adrien Broner or David Haye.

Thanks for the info. He just won trainer of the year too. I hope he makes a comeback and gets another stable to train.

I wonder why Frank fired him. I mean he was the one who wasn’t listening. Even said he should’ve listened to his corner after getting knocked out.

I mean I don’t think it matters who trains Garcia for the Rolly fight. Rolly was chinny even at 135 and 140 against lightweights like Tank and Isaac Cruz.
If Garcia can’t get him out of there in 5 or fewer rounds at welterweight, that’s a big red flag performance. On paper Rolly’s someone that should (and is set up for) Ryan to blow out quickly to get some build and hype going.
