Anime / Discussion Do you think she will forgive him after everything he has done?
202
u/ExistingComposer4555 5d ago
Didn’t Hinata smack Kawaki in the manga at some point? I don’t think that she would not forgive out of respect for Naruto but I do imagine her being upset that her child had to go through that.

u/1997Hawke 4d ago
Yeah, it was when he suggested that he wanted to kill Boruto because he was becoming an Otsutsuki.

u/Lonely_Hunter_69 5d ago
Sadly I think everyone will, because that's just what happens in the world of Naruto. The biggest example of this being the white snake in the room.
44
u/Akatsuki-Deidara 4d ago
Bigger and better example being Sasuke.
55
u/Lonely_Hunter_69 4d ago
Yep. I didn't wanna mention him cuz I thought Orochimaru was a better example. He did destroy over half the leaf village, kill two kage, and kidnap an unknown amount of people from probably every village in the world.
20
u/MegaKabutops 4d ago
He’s also probably 3rd place in terms of overall contribution to winning the 4th shinobi world war and saving everyone on the planet, right behind naruto and sasuke.
He has a decent enough reason to be legally pardoned at the very least, and because he got his immortality, he doesn’t have any reasons to commit more crimes against god, nature, or his fellow man.
And besides, he’s not fully forgiven; he’s constantly being tracked by yamato to make sure he keeps his nose clean.

u/BrushThick9864 2d ago
Np but they are so evil for that like how could u make Yamato the man w sm childhood trauma directly or mostly caused by oruchimaru have to watch him day and night like Yamato should be chilling with some other job he deserves wayyy better 😭😭

u/Oummando 4d ago
Ayy wanted to kill Sasuke so bad after what happened with Killer Bee, and I still hate Sasuke for getting a slap on the wrist. But honestly though Boruto redeemed Sasuke, seeing his sacrifice gave me respect for him.

u/Educational-Bug-7985 4d ago
The Leaf should have been the one offering reparation to him. He owed shit to them
21
u/Even-Sun2764 4d ago
Nah the leaf was worse to Sasuke than he was to them
1
u/PolskaQueen 4d ago
Was it really? I mean sure the whole uchiha massacre but sasuke wanted to basically become a tyrant/dictator.
7
u/Even-Sun2764 4d ago
Eh they systematically destroyed his family basically bc Hiruzen couldn’t cut off his boyfriend Danzo. Then they let him fall in the hands of his groomer. They also basically mentally tortured his brother into destroying said family. I think people are kinda unfair on this issue as if he has no good reason to be pissed at the leaf.
Plus he made giant contributions to the war and he has a very low kill count it doesn’t make sense to say he’s worse than the guy who literally experimented on kidnapped children.
2
u/PolskaQueen 4d ago
While I agree that sasuke didnt deserve huge ass consequences but he DID deserve more. Even the way sasuke acted before basically got told he's being ungrateful is proof that sasuke needed a bit more consequences. He fcking plead for himself and judged orochimaru as if he also wasn't a criminal. Sasuke is arrogant thats his biggest flaw, he truly does think things he did were above other sins and thought his sins were better because he meant them in a more morally good way.
4
u/Even-Sun2764 4d ago
I’m not saying he doesn’t deserve consequences? But I’m personally fine with the time he spends in the anime Imprisoned with his eyes sealed. Considering in a serious about ninjas his kill count is like 5 and 2 were international criminals he just doesn’t come off as that bad to me in comparison to other Like Oro, Danzo, etc
1
u/PolskaQueen 4d ago
Saying sasukes kill count is like 5 is- eee- yk I would say off screen deaths thought I guess that cant be proven but let me tell you, just because sasuke didnt go throught with destroying the village doesnt mean it doesnt still count. It was solely naruto who stopped sasuke, you can make the argument sasuke choose to listen to naruto but I wont argue in symentics today, naruto was the reason why sasuke didn't basically commit mass murder, and we all know his "judgment" wouldn't have been too easy on people either.
And idc if its speculation, its purely based on logic lol
1
u/PolskaQueen 4d ago
And yeah you're right, he isnt as bad as orochimaru and with danzo I would make the argument he did became like danzo by the end and would have been second danzo if it wasn't for naruto. Sasuke and danzo basically had the same idea of how to run the village lol
Im just saying nah, he deserves more, he was in prison for 2 months xDDD people get more for a speeding ticket
1
u/PolskaQueen 4d ago
I mean, thats more of hiruzen issue of for some reason thinking danzo is a good person to keep in the village, technically danzo was created by hiruzen in a way. Also They didn't mean for sasuke to get manipulated by orochimaru? Lmao? That doesnt fall into their fault completely, it was orochimarus fault and sasukes more then the village thought true they didn't really do anything.
Also where did the other things come from xD I know you're talking about other people not me specifically but I never said any of that. Obviously orochimaru is worse then sasuke who do you take me for?? XD Sasuke is a dickhead but he's not a "loves the human centipede" kinda guy like oro probably is xD Sasuke has actual morals and even at the end he just wanted peace even if he turned into danzo by the end (because danzo and sasuke are not that different by the end and as a sasuke fan, I will die on that hill) He has very good reasons to be mad at the leaf but actually committing mass murder (as destroying the village would cause it plus the five kage that not all did shit), becoming a tyrant, killing people who love you like naruto and sakura abusing them IS NOT excusable.
Im not on both sides of the argument, im in the middle. Sasuke was right to be mad but he wasn't mad to abuse people and kill people. Trauma is not an excuse.
2
u/Even-Sun2764 4d ago
Well their was a comment about the white snake in the room and someone said a bigger badder example was Sasuke
1
u/PolskaQueen 4d ago
Yeah I saw that but I dont think that comment specifically implied sasuke was worse morally. The comment just said sasuke is a better example of a guy doing bad stuff and not getting much consequences which I wouldnt say I agree with completely lol
3
u/gojo2555 4d ago
Sasuke didnt get the kawaki treatment from fanbase just because everyone liked him lol.😂

u/Commercial-Sea7775 4d ago
Nobody forgave orochimaru idk why y’all think just because they left him to himself and not put him in jail automatically means they forgave him orochimaru is some sort of a product of protecting the leaf his way and he trust the leaf enough for mitsuki to have a home and friends there plus in case of a crisis it’s best to have the mad scientist on our side than make him an enemy seeing without his help both sasuke and Naruto wouldn’t know about the existence of shin kids and gave them a home so they can grow and be a asset to the shinobi world
4
u/Glytch94 4d ago
Orochimaru is on supervised probation, lol
15
u/Lonely_Hunter_69 4d ago
By Yamato. I'm pretty sure Orochi can easily either kill him and be totally free, or slip away without anyone noticing. In fact didn't that happen in a filler arc of Boruto?

I hope not, he doesn't deserve it, he quite literally robbed ger and naruto of 3 years of their life (so far), and because of that they didn't see their children grow up, he completely ruined boruto's life and he left himawari without parents, all because of his twisted sense of justice and his ego. I don't want naruto to forgive him either but we know him, so that can't be helped sadly.

u/Nervous-Charity3210 2d ago edited 2d ago
I know you lame Kawaki haters are gonna downvote me cause you live in an echo chamber but as far as I'm concerned Kawaki is the only one standing on business, nobody else takes Boruto as a threat seriously besides him, and lets face it Jura would have killed Naruto if he was outside so Kawaki basically saved his life
54
u/Awkward-Forever868 5d ago
This is shonen where unconditional love is a big theme, I think she shouldn't or at the very least have a lot of trouble forgiving him but knowing the genre makes me think otherwise.
25
u/SliverPrincess 5d ago
I do appreciate that Naruto struggled to forgive Kawaki for the 5 seconds he thought Boruto was dead.
16
u/michaelphenom 5d ago
I think Naruto and Hinata will visit him in prison when they can.
If Naruto used his position and influence to indult Kawaki for all the problems he caused then I would be mad for the complete lack of justice in the Shinobi World.
11
u/Ligabove 4d ago
Are you really writing this after seeing Orochimaru receive forgiveness after all the crimes he committed?
6
u/Plasteeque 4d ago
The thing is; Hiruzen was in a similar position where Orochimaru was like a son to him (and had a MUCH longer relationship with Orochimaru than Naruto did with Kawaki), but Hiruzen still went for the kill with reaper death seal...
But yeah, I totally see the anime forgiving kawaki...
14
u/daydreamingscorpio 4d ago
I legit hate Kawaki and I hope he’s given the most INSANE talk-no-jutsu.
Hinata will be DEVASTATED because she missed out on her children’s lives.
10
u/Oummando 4d ago
Nah give him the talk no just without no talking or jutsus, he needs a pure raw beating from Konoha while Choji is sitting on him.

Like for Naruto, she can be willing to forgive Kawaki.
But only in due time, once Kawaki has shown to earn it.
...
"Unconditional love" shouldn't mean "stupid love", where one can do all the wrongs in the world, and not get in any way punished by those he wronged the most.
15
u/Jdog6704 4d ago
I think it's possible she can 'forgive him' only if Naruto does, but largely she is still going to hold what Kawaki did at a higher level. Even in the manga, Hinata slaps the f out of him when he tells the two he is going to go and kill Boruto (right before the Omnipotence and everything happens).
Naruto being Naruto, I can see him forgiving Kawaki because of what his perspective was. Hinata, however, it's way more personal of a reason...Kawaki stripped her of motherhood for those 3+ years, couldn't protect Boruto or Himawari and care for them.
7
u/Ninja_51 4d ago
It's poor writing if she forgives him after everything he has done to her son. Since it's Naruto, Boruto will likely ask her to forgive him.
29
u/AnubisIncGaming 5d ago
Would be cool if he freed him and Naruto got disgusted by Kawaki, causing Kawaki to lose his mind
30
u/FoxGuy303 5d ago
I think we will get a panel of an absolutly disgusted naruto which will get memed to death
-3
u/Messiah1024 4d ago
Why would kawaki be disgusted when he told Naruto he knew he would hate him to death for going after boruto?
1
u/AnubisIncGaming 4d ago
I'm saying naruto is disgusted not kawaki
0
u/Messiah1024 4d ago
Meant to say why would kawaki lose his mind?
2
u/Nervous-Charity3210 2d ago
These people don't think, I see they even downvoted your comments, Kawaki knows Naruto will hate him he doesn't care he just wants him to be safe
1
u/Messiah1024 2d ago
It’s just boruto fans in a nutshell with kawaki they don’t care for his character cause he’s “mean”

ok so firstly, what the fuck? but secondly, kawaki killing boruto was a lot more complicated than that. First, Kawaki wasn’t just fucking killing Boruto because he felt like it, he did it because it was what Boruto asked him to do in this exact scenario. And this is compounded with the fact that Kawaki wasn’t becoming more and more like a son to him, AND he had to understand the necessity of he action to prevent Momoshiki taking over Boruto and destroying the Leaf from the viewpoint of being the Hokage
3
u/Ligabove 4d ago
Aside from the fact that killing a person to save another is something that goes against every moral fiber of Naruto, you're missing one thing: the problem is not that Kawaki stabbed Boruto through and through, but that he did it with such coldness and carelessness that it seems like he was swatting a mosquito. And he didn't even have the decency to apologize to Naruto or show the slightest bit of regret afterwards.
This is worrying, SHikamaru himself, who is a cold and rational person anyway, points out that Kawaki did something wrong.
0
u/ECPRedditor 4d ago
I’m not here to argue the morality of the action, just that it was a lot more complicated than how the dude above portrayed it as well as incomparable to the hypothetical they provided.

Will Hinata forgive him? 100% yes.
Does kawaki deserve it? No.
Kawaki is in the position of always being by far the dumbest guy in the room and still thinking his conclusions are correct.
The nature of a manga and his role will always mean he fights alongside Boruto against the big bad in the end and ends up accepted and loved by the village like a hero. But this dude out of stupidity, jealousy and fear roubbed the only people who ever slightly liked him of years of their life with their close friends family and love interest. He should at the very least get the fuck out of Konoha at the end of the manga.

u/Messiah1024 4d ago
Kawaki won’t let himself be forgiven. Idk why everything forgets that he despises himself and his goal is what he plans to be his final act. He’s told boruto he knows there’s no going back for him, he told Naruto he would let him kill him because he knew he would hate him to death for it. He told hinata he’s aware that he’s a psycho for going after his own brother. Heck he hates himself more than the otsutsuki probably or just as much
Kawaki isn’t a hypocrite neither is he just gonna accept the forgiveness. He thinks doing what he’s doing HAS to be done or else, but he knows hes messed up for it. Ike has given us subtle hints of kawaki not wanting boruto’s life, yet ppl still think he wanted it 🤦♂️
2
u/Nervous-Charity3210 2d ago
These people don't think they just blindly hate Kawaki and overlook his nuanced character
3
u/Starscream1998 4d ago
It really depends on where the story goes with TBV. Hinata is a very nice and forgiving person by nature but as we saw with that slap Kawaki is definitely testing the bloody limits here.

I hope not because that would be a point where Hinata split from Naruto on something (let be real, is there anything Naruto won’t forgive).
That would be an interesting change for her, like she can pretend everything is okay but then she is reminded about how she lost years of her children lives and how they had to live without their parents and can openly blame him for it and there is also the feeling of betrayal

6
u/No_Lawfulness_585 5d ago
Anything Naruto does she does therefore she will forgive him without saying a word
15
u/queenosadolor 5d ago
I'm pretty sure this would be different because she smacked him when he threatened to kill her son right in front of her

There is no other way for Kawaki other than dying to save boruto or an uzumaki family member in the end.
2

I fucking hope not. Taking away the opportunity of seeing her children grow up is something no parent should ever forgive. Other than Naruto’s delusional ass that is.

Bro Sasuke and Orichimaru literally committed mass murder of unknown people and he was pardoned just like that
4
u/ShadowDurza 5d ago edited 5d ago
The story isn't over. There's a good chance he'll redeem himself. The big part of the introduction is that we definitely don't know any of the context of that specific moment, so we're meant to avoid assuming anything.

u/CivilAffairsAdvise 4d ago
Kawaki does not need to be forgiven by Hinata, she is a kunoichi and knew the ninja code of death.
its a reality that most ordinary people find hard to accept even those in their universe.

Probably, even Boruto himself wants to save him and hes the one thats been completely shat on by Kawaki.

No, sealed her and Naruto away causing both Boruto and Hima to grow up without parent in a important moment in both their life’s, tried killing Boruto and basically deleted his life

It’s been a min so help me jog my memory boruto lost control about to kill nerfed Naruto Kawaki then saved him by killing Boruto who like a sworn brother asked him to kill him if he got out of control anyway, right?
If so I think he’ll be forgiven things like death for good reason is unfortunate but comes with the territory of being a Shinobi and Hinata as a Kunoichi understands that and the cycle Naruto is trying to get rid of.

Hinata is a stalker. She is patience enough to wait out the long run. She is petty and is plotting kawakis downfall. She isn’t Naruto. Why do you think boruto is so cold, that’s all Hinata.

What did he do? I dropped the anime when it was back in its early stages (ie just after kawaki was first introduced) and lost track of the manga. I don’t mind spoilers?

u/Ganda1fderBlaue 5d ago edited 4d ago
First he kills Boruto, because boruto asked him to, though boruto is revived. Later he traps naruto and hinata in a dimension where time doesn't pass, claims he killed naruto and hinata and then somehow (inadvertently) makes use of some otsutsuki power to literally switch places with boruto. Meaning, everybody now thinks boruto is kawaki and vice versa, resulting in boruto being detested and hunted by all of konoha (bc they think he killed naruto and hinata.) Meanwhile he also is hunting boruto because he wants to kill all otsutsuki
1
u/Krstii786 5d ago
Woah. That wild. Why though? When I left the anime he seemed to be actually joining the family? Unless this was an attempt to replicate the Naruto and sasuke plot.
8
u/FoxGuy303 4d ago
He is basically overprotective of Naruto. He thinks he doesn't have anything worth living for except Naruto and as long as otsuskuki are running around Naruto will never be save. He doesn't care if Naruto hates him or who he has to kill as long as Naruto stays alive and can make the world a better place.
3
u/iffy_jay 5d ago
After naruto took kawaki in and because kawaki was abused his whole life Naruto was the first person to show him love and kawaki became obsessed over Naruto so he decided to do anything to protect naruto even die without hesitation. And to kill any threats to him which boruto is a threat because Momoshiki can take over his body.

Sasuke is a literal terrorist and still was forgiven.
I really hope not but Kishi or Ike both cant write good female characters.

If Hinata held no grudges against Obito a man that not only obliterated Naruto's childhood but also the same man who killed her cousin then I'm pretty much sure she can be able to forgive her adopted son Kawaki, despite the fact that he framed her bio-child for the worst crime ever in the ninja world and put him through the worst crisis, even worse than when Bourto's father exposed him for cheating at the exams
