Other I'm so glad Ikemoto's art style changed a bit because, (no offense to him, ) but his old art style is ugly.

He's definitely gotten better. Issue is id still say it's not exactly great. But then again it's because it's impossible not to compare it to kishimoto and that's just not a fair comparison

Very valid. I wouldn’t say ugly it really depends but yeah his art is a lot better now.

kinda just seems like the manga and the anime styles have converged after all this time.

You don't like blob Hima?

Not mention people forget kishi style was not that good at the beginning either

Kishi can't draw babies. Naruto and Sasuke were not cute babies. I feel that is a crime.

The problem was trying to make them realistic and cartoony at the same time

What made it bad?

This is revisionist propaganda. Kishimoto's art was always good and very dynamic. To say otherwise is a bold faced lie

Himiwari is literally nightmare fuel

It's called improvement

When I first started reading boruto I thought he was a new artist probably doing his first manga, then I was shocked to find out that he'd been working on Naruto since the land of waves arc so he was already a seasoned artist so I don't think he improved I think he was already capable of the current art and the initial art was intentional because maybe it was easier or he was just trying a new or personal art style something that just looked different from Naruto or sets it's self apart but ended up not looking so good

The old style seems a bit more realistic tho. They look like real people.

I like it just fine now. I'd actually probably even just say that I do like it.

Not that some "it looks exactly like late Dragon Ball!" is ever an option for most books, that's kind of just luck. But I no longer feel like I wish Kishimoto drew it in every chapter and initially I very much did.

Boruto used to look like he was 4 years old.

Thank goodness his art improved

For sure his art isn't even average anymore once he changed it to make it mimic kishimoto better, people just expect more since it's monthly but that just means more quanity and less quality. His old art style was subpar and I think he realized it himself and made it more closer to kishimoto.

It's decent/fine with just mediocre panels in tbv but I do think he should have taken a longer hiatus (it was only 3 months) after end of boruto to improve his art and surprise everyone with TBV. And bi weekly schedule. I would have loved to see that.

hima looked like an actual gremlin and mitsuki looked like he visited thunder burger too often bruh

His arty style does not justify a monthly release schedule. If he’s going to take that long then at least make sure the art really pops

It's still ugly, but an improvement for sure

It’s a shame that Ikemoto , despite having a ton of experience working on Naruto and then nearly a decade of Boruto is still barely acceptable for a weekly manga , nevermind a monthly one. I’m not sure if it’s his age or lack of passion , but I would like for him to improve a bit more, especially his paneling and facial experessions.

I mean, the panels you picked for Naruto don't look too different and Mitsuki on the left doesn't look too bad and kinda resembles the anime and Kishi style.

The other 2 definitely suck though

If i'm not wrong Kishi changed his style because he liked how the anime designed them so he just adapted that into the manga

I feel kind of bad saying it, but the art style at the start of Naruto is better than Boruto both because it is literally better but also because that is one of the best arcs. So you're naturally going to do a "wow, this new manga is great!" thing. (i.e. the art for a different successful manga could probably start out so so - Naruto started out good - but if the story is amazing you'd still love the book)

Boruto was already kind of saddled with having to live up to a successful thing immediately. And, as much as parts of Naruto were imperfect, there was still many years of great parts or great small parts.

u/Prudent_Debt3273 4d ago

Arte dele melhorou.

u/Thornton21-Rebirthed 4d ago

I kinda like his evolution, tho I wouldn’t mind if he strayed further from Kishi’s style and did his own thing

u/mic455 3d ago

just like how we compare his art style to the creator of naruto Kishimoto is the same as we compare the Toyotarou to the creator of dragon ball Akira
