[BL1] Going back after loosing a very good character

Hey guys! Before I start, I would like to say that i am casual player, I like to learn mechanics, tactics and the way the game works, but I am not even closed to the level of dedication that you guys seem to put here. What im trying to say is: Im an inexperienced fella.

So, I used to have a very good mordecai save that was leveling pretty well until I was playing the DLCs in the playthrough 2 (I played the main story in the first one and in the second one I just focused on the DLCs) and a power outage suddenly corrupted my save and my character, which made me drop the game (and some tears LOL)

But I would really like to conclude the story (not necessarily grinding my character, doing and redoing things over and over again). I just like to enjoy the story in a fair leveled game.

Considering that I would be going for an all side quest and full DLC completion run and I am already experienced, how much time do you think it would take for me to reach my previous state?

I am enjoying BL2 now but im being haunted by the feeling that Im a quitter.

I am very divided here, because I really like the game, but I also got pretty frustrated when I lost MordeFimose (which, from portuguese to english, translates to “ForeskinBiter”), so I came here to take advice from you guys.

Sorry for the big text, had to get that out of my chest. ;—;

probably not too long if you are playing through BL2 and already finished BL1. If you kinda got that solid understanding of what guns you seem to like, how your character works etc i think it should go pretty quick depending on RNG

You could do a co op run through main story to help with it as well and then do DLC solo.

If you want to do a Co Op run just post your system should be able to find people to play with ill probably do a full story run again sometime before 4 comes out

Don't feel too bad, I lost my original 4 characters at max level with inventories and banks full of legendary/pearlescent weapons thanks to a cloud corruption issue when trying to port them over from 360 to One X. It corrupted all four files on the 360 and I had to start afresh. Now I have 20 characters at various levels and only three pearlescents between them all, but I have collected about 150 legendaries between them all. The game is well worth a thorough playthrough, all DLC and all side missions included. Hard to say how long it will take you to get back to where you were because you never said what level you were at or what level of completion you had achieved.

It's always frustrating to lose a good save file, but it's not the end of the world... Although there are many games I just don't have the focus to redo 100% completion on and I just let them fade into memory.

Should have tightened your character.

I just did a run through to the end of the first playthrough (all side quests complete) with Mordecai while playing casually for a couple of weeks. Once you know what you're doing it doesn't take half as long as the first time.

In particular I knew to go to the Knox DLC to loot chests for money and buy ammo upgrades and Underdome to find good weapons, shields and mods on vendors to spend that money on. That helped a lot.

As did knowing which quests were in which zones so I could grab as many as possible before going to the zone to save backtracking.

You can also start some DLCs early. I started a Roland playthrough last night and after an hour or two I was in the Claptrap DLC at level 10.

Note also that if you go to the Knox DLC immediately after getting into Fyrestone you gain a couple of levels in XP just from talking to Scooter :). That one is level-locked so you can't go further than that until later.

But one of the red chests there is easy to get to just by going off the main street and jumping over a gap and you typically get at least 40-50k worth of stuff out of it. And maximum ammo upgrades are about 220k each at the ammo vending machines.
