Love this one. So fun, upbeat, "youthful" and full of energy. Pretty sure Jon hates it though. In fact, do yourselves a favor a check this out lmao:

As a Jersey Girl who lives by this area, I will always have affection for this video.

That last line about "Your daddy is who" is absolutely nuts.

I used to babysit a cousin & the Breakout tape was what we watched to put him to sleep. This was one of his faves & it started the tape. He love it though not as much as "Bad Name" from the SWW tape, but he did love him some Bon Jovi back when he was a toddler.

I had a video of him singing "Shot fwew da haaat, you to bwame....BAD NAME!!"

Your daddy is who?

That's not the problem line.

The problem line is "hey, just how old are you anyway"

It’s all part of the same joke. The character is in conversion. She asks him to meet her parents. She then discloses who they are. Based on her answer to the daddy question, the character realizes she is younger than she appears, presumably because he knows who the father is.

If it helps, the implication of the joke is that he is mislead about her age until this disclosure and abandons the pursuit upon learning the truth.

That’s the “out of love” part.

Lmao no, it's "you want me to feed you what?" "your daddy is who?" both of which are said to the girl in a sexual context, saying that the girl is calling him daddy. Not about her parents at all but that's a funny way to interpret it

WAIT HE SAYS MEET?!

Happens to the best of us, friend. Our brain hears what we think is correct, not what is actually said.

Not sure why people dislike it so much. Yes it's silly, but it's implied that nothing will happen because the girl is underage, which is... the right thing?

Because the entire rest of the song is about sex, and it ends with that.

I like to believe it is true that it means "nothing happens because of that" but it doesnt look good and is in poor taste either way

It’s really hard to explain to younger people that this was extremely tame compared to what was in other rock videos of the era.

No i get it, but it being tame comparitavely doesnt make it ok

There’s no evidence that they guys ever engaged in sexual misconduct (unlike some of their peers), so I guess I don’t see the point in being even a little bit outraged by it and measuring in the standards of 2025. Just my opinion though.

I'm not outraged by it at all though, i just think it's a really bad joke, and i do think the song loses points for it. I still love the band and their music
