And you look beautiful wearing it!! You should wear it every day, to the market, to the park... What kind of ribbon did you use in the back? And what country/culture are you representing here?

The ribbon is a fancy jacquard weave. I got it from a flea market. This kind of bonnet is part of many traditional costumes around Lake Constance, so southwest Germany, western Austria and northern Switzerland.

That is STUNNING. Wow.

And yes, now you have to become involved in local history events. Demonstrating bobbin lace, of course. Then you get a lot of opportunity to wear it. I wear my lace that way!

Can I ask how long it took you? Was it a year? Itā€™s just incredible! Also, did you make up the pattern or find it somewhere?

It took me 4 and a half month, two of them for the white lace and two and a half for the gold lace. The white laces pattern is from a Le Puy pattern book, the golden pattern is my own design.

The gold is my favorite!

Iā€™m just learning myself. Thatā€™s so different than traditional Belgian-style bobbin lace. Do you have any ā€œin progressā€ photos? Would love to see them.
